Extended Time Bonus For Sydney Apprentice

Fresh from celebrating her third city win at Canterbury on Wednesday, Jess Taylor revealed she had succeeded in extending her apprenticeship into a fifth year.
The junior rider is originally from Gosford on the NSW central coast but is now indentured to Sydney trainer and former jockey Mark de Montfort.
Taylor, 23, hopes the ability to claim an allowance for another year will help her improve her competitiveness as she continues to gain experience.
"I figured while I've still got the claim in the city, it's better off to use it," Taylor said at Canterbury on Wednesday.
"It's a bit hard riding against these senior boys."
Taylor did a good job of doing just that on Wednesday when she came away with a win from just three rides at Canterbury.
She was successful aboard Les Bridge-trained mare Queen Of Sheba in the Hyland Race Colours Handicap after dictating terms in front.
It was her first ride for Bridge but after the win it is unlikely to be her last.
"It was super. I'm so glad he put me on - I'm so grateful," she said.
An upbeat Taylor said Queen Of Sheeba jumped to the front and finished the 1900-metre race with something in the tank.
"She wanted to go another lap actually - it took her forever to pull up," she said.
