Exosphere Wins Gr 2 Skyline For Godolphin

In the same week Holler's Golden Slipper campaign ended, Exosphere has stepped up for Godolphin to stake his claim with victory in the Skyline Stakes.

Trainer John O'Shea said Holler was now in the spelling paddock after he was found to have a temperature.

Exosphere, a Kembla Grange maiden winner two weeks ago, made light work of Saturday's Group Two Skyline (1200m) at Warwick Farm, with James McDonald producing him in the straight.

The $2.40 favourite lengthened stride and left the others in his wake, dashing to a four-length win over Odyssey Moon ($14).

Exosphere's stablemate Mogador ($11) crossed the line third but was quickly relegated to fourth behind Sebring Sun ($4) after Blake Shinn protested against visiting English rider James Doyle for shifting out in the straight."

But all honours were with the winner and trainer John O'Shea was proud of his effort.

"He is a colt with a lovely turn of foot and is making the grade on his own," O'Shea said.

"He has stepped up here today and it's lovely to have a couple of Lonhro colts for Sheikh Mohammed heading to the Slipper."

The TAB immediately promoted Exosphere to $6 second favourite for the $3.5 million Golden Slipper (1200m) on March 21 behind Headwater on $4.60.
