Two Guineas To Choose From For Some

Guineas options have been left open for three major contenders entered in both Sydney and Melbourne.

With two Group One 1600m races to choose from on Saturday, Kermadec, Shooting To win and Scissor Kick are entered for the Australian Guineas at Flemington and the Randwick Guineas.

The Chris Waller-trained Kermadec is the favourite in Melbourne with Hong Kong-based Nash Rawiller booked to ride.

"There is a ten per cent chance he will run in Sydney," Waller said.

"It's just a precaution he is in the Randwick Guineas but the plan is to send him south on Wednesday.

Kermadec earned his Australian Guineas favouritism with his eye-catching third behind Hallowed Crown and Sweynesse in the Hobartville Stakes in which Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting To Win was fourth.

Waller also has Winx in the mix for the Flemington race after her fifth behind First Seal in Saturday's Group Two Surround Stakes at Warwick Farm.

Winx finished second to first Seal twice last spring in the Group Two Tea Rose Stakes and Group One Flight Stakes.

The Bart And James Cummings-trained Hallowed Crown is the nominal favourite for the Randwick Guineas after his tenacious Hobartville victory.

Hallowed Crown beat Scissor Kick and Shooting To Win in the Group One Golden Rose in the spring.

The Mike Moroney-trained Merion is 20th in the ballot order for the Australian Guineas and is also among 13 entries for the Randwick feature.

Testashadow from the Gary Portelli stable is also entered for both.
