Saintly To Return To Randwick For Tribute

Champion racehorse Saintly will be a part of the day of tribute to his trainer Bart Cummings at Randwick.

Cummings died last Sunday at his home at Princes Farm on Sydney's north-western outskirts where Saintly has lived since his retirement in 1997.

The winner of the 1996 Cox Plate-Melbourne Cup double, Saintly will arrive on course just before midday on Saturday and will be in race day stall No.23, denoting his age and the number of times he raced.

Saintly will then be paraded on the track at around 1.25pm before the JB Cummings AM Tribute Ming Dynasty Quality.

There will then be a minute's silence preceding the race which is named after the Cummings-trained dual Caulfield Cup winner and long-serving Randwick clerk of the course's horse.

Darren Beadman, who rode Saintly to his famous double, will also be there to pay tribute to the late trainer.

Saintly will be taken home after the race.
