Iceberg's Titanic Performance in Wyong Cup

1203johnsingleton.jpg (10433 bytes)The Tony Wildman trained Bondi Iceberg has upstaged his more fancied rivals and extended the winning run of millionaire businessman John Singleton by winning this afternoon's listed $153,200 Wyong Gold Cup (2100m).

Singleton shouted the bar, as he has done on numerous occasions in recent imes, yesterday when his filly Quiet As scored a stunning debut win.

A little over 24 hours later he was again on top of the world when his six-year-old gelding scored a fighting win.

A South Australian bred son of Danehill, Bondi Iceberg stalked the leaders early before hitting the front in the middle stages of the straight and then grinding home for a gutsy one length win.

Leading Sydney based rider Brian York got plenty out of Bondi Iceberg and he was able to hold out the late challenge by the fast finishing Danyon, who was aiming for back to back victories.

Feed the Meter snared third place, just ahead of the race favourite Spillway.
