Galroof Injured - Out for Spring

Just as Mike Moroney's Flemington stable was gearing up for an attack on the Victorian spring carnival one of the stables's major hopes, Galroof, has had to be put aside.

The Maroof four-year-old Galroof has injured a tendon in trackwork and will now have to be spelled until the autumn. Galroof was a major star in Queensland for Moroney and he had high hopes for her over the spring.

Some compensation came Moroney's way on Saturday at Caulfield with a good second with Feel The Noise and close up runs from Gypsy Lad and in particular The Secondmortgage.

A five-year-old Housebuster gelding The Secondmortgage was a fast finishing fifth in the Listed Agripower Heatherlie Hcp over 1700m and Moroney was pleased with the effort.

At Kilmore the stable had the first starter Disco Hips (3yo g Groom Dancer-Kind by St Hilarion) win by 3 1/4L over 1100m. Although racing greenly it was a good first up win and Moroney said Disco Hips will develop into a nice horse in the autumn.
