Time For War Ready For Gold Coast Battle

Stable newcomer Time For War has impressed Stuart Kendrick ahead of the Gold Coast Guineas, his first start for the trainer.
Time For War hasn't run since finishing down the track in the Group One Coolmore Stud Classic (1200m) won by Brazen Beau at Flemington on November 1.
However, Time For War has a victory over Brazen Beau in the BRC Sires' Produce Stakes (1350m).
Owned by Darby Racing and previously trained by Gerald Ryan at Rosehill, Time For War has been transferred to Kendrick on the Sunshine Coast.
"They spelled him after the Coolmore and then sent him up to me for the winter," Kendrick said.
Kendrick gave Time For War a trial and he finished a close second to 2014 Stradbroke winner River Lad.
Tentative plans for Time For War include the Doomben Group One sprint treble of the BTC Cup, Doomben 10,000 and Stradbroke Handicap.
"It depends on his run on Saturday," Kendrick said.
"If he goes well that will be his campaign as he has shown he likes Doomben."
"But we have a couple of other options if he isn't up to that class."
Kendrick will be represented by the in-form Neo in the Listed Prime Ministers Cup (1400m) and is hopeful the former kiwi can break his Australian duck.
Neo has run two minor placings and a fourth since joining Kendrick two months ago.
"He is on the minimum weight and has the in-form Jim Byrne to ride from a good barrier," Kendrick said.
