Sheiswhatsheis After Overdue Brisbane Win

Classy mare Sheiswhatsheis's unlucky summer needs to turn around if she is to have a chance to qualify for stakes races during the Brisbane winter carnival.

Her trainer Tony Gollan has 55 metropolitan winners this season but he believes Sheiswhatsheis should have given him several more.

Sheiswhatsheis showed her class when a nose second to stablemate Tina Melina in the Listed Nudgee Quality at Doomben last Saturday week.

She will be having her sixth start this campaign in the Makers Mark Handicap on Saturday and Gollan believes with any luck she could have won four of her previous runs.

"It has been a combination of bad barriers and plain bad luck," Gollan said.

"She has earned nearly $50,000 in minor placing prize money already this campaign.

"She was placed in four of her five runs from a spell and in the other she was attacked in the lead and had no luck at all."

Gollan said the downside was that Sheiswhatsheis has a low rating and will struggle to make the better grade fields in the winter.

"She really needs to win a few to get her rating up before I can even think about stakes races and carnivals," he said.

"But she is a class racehorse and I have no doubt that she will get there one day.

"At least on Saturday she has barrier one and a light weight (54.5kg)."

Gollan will also run Flight Academy and Pienkna in the Makers Mark and believes they will be Sheiswhatsheis' main rivals.

"Flight Academy has been very consistent at Ipswich and is down in the weights while Pienkna can improve," he said.

Gollan and arch-rival Robert Heathcote dominate Brisbane racing to such an extent the total of winners between them for the season is greater than the next eight trainers combined.
