When the gates opened LORD ERSKINE reared and lost ground as a consequence.

On return to scale K Dodge, rider of TARCOOLA MAGIC requested to view the image of the finish.

The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected SINDICATO subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding was lame in the off fore knee. Ms A White, trainer of SINDICATO was notified that a veterinary certificate of soundness must be produced for the gelding prior to it again racing.

When the gates opened ASPEN STAR was slow into stride.

Near the 100 metres GAMERA had to be eased after SISTER IN LAW (B Johns) initially shifted in and then BEAU MASTER shifted out. B Johns was severely reprimanded for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear and notified that in future he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount.

On jumping away CALIGULA lost it’s footing.

Mr S Brown trainer of CALIGULA was fined $50 for presenting that gelding with blinkers when it is not approved to race in that gear (AR140(a)).

RACE FIVE CLASS 4 HCP - 13OO M

When the gates opened PALACE LAD and ARDUOUS KING bounded and lost ground as a consequence.

On jumping away MOSSE shifted out and bumped WESTFIELD.

Near the 1100 metres FATHER’S FOLLY and GERRARD bumped on several occasions when racing tight.

Near the 650 metres FATHER’S FOLLY rolled out slightly and bumped GERRARD which caused that gelding to become unbalanced and had to be eased.

In the straight MOSSE had a tendency to lay in.

When the gates opened MI SENORITA (NZ) knuckled and FRAADI KNIGHT was slow into stride.

Shortly after the start LE SAINT shifted in and hampered WARISAN and THE BIG FELLA.

Approaching the winning post THE BIG FELLA was disappointed for a clear run.

From the 200 metres to shortly before the winning post SON OF GRACE was unable to gain a clear run between CYPRESS LAKES and PELT.

Stewards were notified some time after the race that PELT had not been produced for a swab. Stewards contacted Mr Lamprecht who had returned to the stables with PELT and notified him that PELT was to be brought back to the swabbing box to be swabbed. Mr Lamprecht stated that he was not notified that PELT was to be swabbed and was not aware that all winners were swabbed. Mr Lamprecht was notified of his requirement to ensure that all winners trained by him are presented promptly at the swabbing box.

The explanation of Mr D Leech, trainer of VIDAL for the late notification of a rider for that gelding was accepted.

Acting on a report from the clubs veterinary surgeon that DUCHOVNY was lame and unfit to start, stewards ordered the withdrawal of that gelding at 3.58pm with all monies to be refunded and no alteration to betting.

On jumping away LE MIRE and RUMOUR CONTROL (NZ) came together.

Rounding the first turn LE MIRE overaced and had to be eased off the heels of BOZEMAN.

Near the 500 metres OLLIE (NZ) had to be eased when tightened for room by EL QABOW which rolled out.

B Huppatz, rider of VIDAL was fined $50 for failing to have his skull cap properly affixed whilst mounted AR87.

Stewards questioned Mrs C Green, trainer of DUCHOVNY which was scratched from this event. Mrs Green stated that the gelding had been effected by a stone bruise earlier in the week and that she had the horse shod with a cover over the sole and a bar, On Friday morning she had worked the horse and it appeared to be alright. Mrs Green had notified the stewards that the gelding had a stone bruise prior to acceptances on Thursday. Stewards notified Mrs Green that she must produce a satisfactory veterinary certificate for DUCHOVNY prior to accepting for it’s next race.

All winners were swabbed today
