Rounding the first turn SWAMP THING had a tendency to shift out.
During the event RADIANT BLAST lost it’s off side plate.

On jumping away LUNER RULER jumped outwards and tightened DESERT REEF which had to be checked as a result.
Near the 200 metres M Morita (a), rider of PRUDENTIAL dropped his whip.

When the gates opened NASH STREET jumped awkwardly and FETTLE was slow into stride.
In the straight NASH STREET had a tendency to lay in.

Approaching the winning post XHAFERS ROLL was tightened slightly by RUBYRULE.
Stewards questioned J Hallam rider of SANCAY which performed below expectations. J Hallam stated that the gelding had no early pace and hung out for the majority of the race. Further that although not lame it felt uncomfortable in its action early on.

As there was no replacement rider available for AMBERLIGHT, stewards ordered it’s withdrawal at 3.11pm.
When the gates opened WINABULL stood flat footed and lost ground.
Mr L Houldsworth trainer of PERAK SILVER (NZ) was fined $50 for presenting that gelding without a tongue tie when it is approved to race in that gear (AR140(a)).
Subsequent to the event the clubs veterinary surgeon reported that SKIING had blood in one nostril.

When the gates opened PRETTY WOMAN (NZ) stood flat footed and lost ground.
