RACE FOUR 2YO SET WEIGHTS - 1OOO M

Mr K Lamprecht, trainer of ENUNCIATE was fined $50 for failing to produce a clearance for that filly which last raced interstate (AR59B(b)).

Acting on veterinary advice that PRINTERS BOUNTY was lame in the near fore leg and unfit to start, stewards ordered the withdrawal of that gelding at 11.38pm.

When the gates opened ALLSPENT and STRESS RELIEF were slow into stride.

On jumping away EARRING and ENUNCIATE came together also BLEV and MASKED LADY came together.

After passing the 200 metres AWASH had a tendency to lay out under pressure and took NASH STREET out.

Approaching the winning post NASH STREET had a tendency to lay in onto AWASH.

The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected MASKED LADY subsequent to the event and reported that the filly was sore in the off fore hoof.

RACE FIVE CLASS D HCP (Div 1) - 1OOO M

Shortly after the start FLASH LIGHTNING was taken out by HUNTER REGION. This resulted in FLASH LIGHTNING, FLYING CAPE, CALMER KARMA and ESSEDARIUS all racing tight for some distance.

About 50 metres after the start ESSEDARIUS and CALMER KARMA, which were bumping, were inconvenienced when KOSSI PRINCE shifted in away from JUST YOU ASK. As a result ESSEDARIUS and FLYING CAPE were inconvenienced and CALMER KARMA had to be checked.

Near the 1100 metres HUNTER REGION had to be eased off the heels of JUST YOU ASK.

FLASH LIGHTNING began to overace down the back straight and on the turn near the 650 metres had to be eased when racing ungenerously.

Prior to correct weight being declared T Norton, rider of HERE’S ME MATE requested to view the image of the photo finish.

On jumping away GEODUDE and BRIGHT YOU ARE bumped due to GEODUDE shifting in. GETZEN was also bumped by BRIGHT VISION on jumping away and then took some strides to muster speed.

Near the 600 metres GO BRAGH, which was racing tight on the inside of GEODUDE became unbalanced and struck the rail and as a result lost some ground.

J Hallam (a), rider of GEODUDE was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137 (a)). The careless riding being that passing the 1500 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of BRIGHT YOU ARE thereby taking that gelding in onto DROPS OF JUPITER (NZ) and UPTON. This resulted in UPTON and BRIGHT YOU ARE being hampered and DROPS OF JUPITER (NZ) being checked. J Hallam (a) was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Wednesday 16th July and fined the sum of $250.

Approaching the 650 metres BRIGHT VISION had to be eased when disappointed for a clear run.

Approaching the winning post VIDAL, which was racing greenly was disappointed for a clear run.

The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected GETZEN subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding appeared lethargic.

When the gates opened GILDED STAR was slow to begin. C Lever, rider of GRISWALD notified the stewards that after jumping away the gelding was reluctant to race for some distance.

RACE NINE CLASS 6 HCP - 1OOO M

Shortly after the start SKIING was badly inconvenienced between GANGA and WINNING BLIND both of which shifted ground. About 50 metres after the start WINNING BLIND had to be eased off the heels of GANGA (P Farrell) which shifted in. P Farrell was reprimanded and notified he must ensure he is 2 lengths clear prior to shifting ground in future.

Approaching the 650 metres and then for some distance rounding the home turn SKIING had to be eased when disappointed for a clear run.

During the race SKIING lost both front tips.

The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected SUDDEN GOLD subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding was lame in the near fore leg. The clubs veterinary surgeon also inspected GANGA subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding had lacerations to the hind legs.

P Farrell, rider of GANGA was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137(a)). The careless riding being that near the 800 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of RING CYCLE which resulted in that gelding having to be checked and SILENT MAJORITY which was following being hampered as a consequence. P Farrell was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Saturday 19th July 2003.

P Farrell, rider of GANGA was found guilty of a second charge of careless riding (AR137(a).

The careless riding being that on the home turn he permitted his mount to shift out when not sufficiently clear of JUROMA which resulted in JUROMA having to be checked. P Farrell was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Saturday 19th July, 2003.

Mr G Carige, trainer of JUROMA was fined $50 for presenting that gelding with incorrect gear (AR140(a)).

RACE TEN CLASS 3 HCP - 12OO M

On jumping away FATHER’S FOLLY shifted out abruptly and tightened LION PRIDE out onto EARTH LEGEND. As a result LION PRIDE and EARTH LEGEND had to be checked between FATHER’S FOLLY and MOSSE which also shifted in.

On the latter part of the home turn FATHER’S FOLLY was held up for a clear run.

Near the 300 metres FATHER’S FOLLY shifted out and bumped GRASS DANCER which in turn took REDISON out onto LIONS PRIDE and it in turn onto EARTH LEGEND.

Shortly after the start VITELLI, which was taken out slightly by GUNNEL made contact with COPPER’S EDGE forcing it out onto GIRA. As a result COPPER’S EDGE and VTIELLI bumped for some distance.

Stewards questioned J Hallam (a) rider of VITELLI which performed below expectations. J Hallam (a) stated that VITELLI was second up today and performed below expectations, when second up at Alice Springs. He also stated that VITELLI climbed and did not appreciate the sand coming back, however all things considered he was not disappointed with it’s performance today.

Stewards questioned P Crich, rider of CYPRESS LAKES which performed poorly. He stated that the gelding raced forward but was a beaten horse at the 700 metres and appeared to pull up alright.

The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected CYPRESS LAKES subsequent to the event and reported that he could find no apparent abnormality. A swab sample was taken from CYPRESS LAKES.

RACE TWELVE DARWIN GUINEAS - 16OO M

After jumping away SURRENDERS shifted out, ENVIRONS which was initially taken out then shifted further and tightened TJILPI, DALRIADA and CRIMSON RABBIT hampering all those runners.

Shortly after the start CRIMSON RABBIT and DALRIADA came together when tightened for room between TJILPI and EDGE TO EDGE which shifted in.

All winners were swabbed today.

The following horses were pre-race swabbed. Believe in Victory, Wild Heart, Flash Henry, Geodude, Vitelli and Rumour Control.

Licensed jockey B Schmidt was fined $100 for placing a bet in contravention of AR83(c).
