RACE ONE CLASS D HCP - 1OOO M

After being placed in the barriers ANOTHER CREW reared and dislodged it’s rider. ANOTHER CREW was examined by the club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to run.

When the gates opened SEGREGATE was slow into stride.

On jumping away ANOTHER CREW knuckled. Shortly after jumping away RING OF DIAMONDS shifted out and bumped KINGS ALLEY. KINGS ALLEY then threw it’s head up and ran outwards taking SNOW KEY out onto the hindquarters of GRAND BEAVER. As a result SNOW KEY had to be checked and lost considerable ground and GRAND BEAVER was hampered.

Near the 650 metres SEGREGATE had to be eased back off the heels of MONKEY BOY.

Rounding the turn GRAND BEAVER had a tendency to lay out.

Mr G Carige, trainer of SNOW KEY was fined $20 for using club colours on that gelding.

Shortly after the start NEAREST THE PIN knuckled and lost considerable ground as a consequence.

Rounding the turn WESTERN JESTER had a tendency to lay out and race erratically.

After jumping away SNAP TO IT had a tendency to shift out and tightened MILESTONES.

RACE FOUR 3YO CLASS 3 HCP - 11OO M

When the gates opened KISSING DOWN and ICHIKAWA were slow to begin. KISSING DOWN then shifted in and hampered ICHIKAWA further.

In the middle stages of the race the saddle on MANDATE slipped badly and placed it’s rider C Lever at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. C Lever, rider of MANDATE notified the stewards that his mount hung out during the event.

On return to scale B Huppatz, rider of SOCCER notified stewards that in his opinion his mount had been denied a fair start as the front gates on his barrier were slow to open. After viewing the head on video of the start and considering the evidence, stewards deemed that SOCCER had been denied a fair start under AR134A and declared the gelding a non-runner. Subsequent to the event stewards ordered all monies wagered on SOCCER to be refunded and the following betting deductions. All monies wagered prior to the withdrawal of SOCCER to be paid as follows- for the win, face value of the ticket less 12 cents in the dollar. For the place, face value of the ticket less 11 cents in the dollar.

RACE FIVE CLASS 4 HCP - 16OO M

On jumping away WESTFIELD got it’s head up and lost ground.

In the middle stages of the race VIDAL had a tendancy to lay out.

D Bates, rider of TOTAL RUSH was questioned by stewards about that gelding’s performance today. D Bates stated that after being well away TOTAL RUSH had difficulty getting around the first turn and lost considerable ground as a consequence. Further that when it got behind the field it did not appreciate the sand being thrown back and was reluctant to race. In the middle stages he elected not to ride the horse vigorously as it was not travelling well and then in the straight TOTAL RUSH made some ground when being ridden along. Stewards noted D Bates explanation however reminded him of his responsibility to ride all his mounts out to the best of his ability and expressed their concern that he did not attempt to ride TOTAL RUSH forward earlier in the race.

RACE SIX CLASS 6 HCP - 13OO M

On arrival at the course SWAMP THING was examined by the club’s veterinary surgeon who reported that the gelding had an injury to its tendon and was unfit to start. Acting on this advice stewards ordered the withdrawal of SWAMP THING at 3.12pm.

On jumping away ACELA bounded in the air and FRAMEWORTHY was slow into stride.

During the event CLEAR’N’OUT suffered an attack of bleeding.

The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected EMPHASIS subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding appeared to be tying up in the hindquarters.

RACE SEVEN WELTER - 12OO M

When the gates opened RODIN stood flat footed and lost considerable ground.

On jumping away FRAADI KNIGHT was tightened for room between PELT which shifted out slightly and NAPPA which shifted in.

Near the 150 metres NAPPA rolled out and took PELT, which had angled to it’s outside to obtain a run, out onto BEAU MASTER.

Near the 650 metres CATHALOOK got its head up and hung out across the heels of FLIGHT PATTERN.

Near the 500 metres EROGENOUS was disappointed for a clear run behind FLIGHT PATTERN which when weakening rolled in slightly.

Over the concluding stages EROGENEOUS was disappointed for a clear run between GAMERA and NAPPA which rolled in slightly.

The trainer of DARK BRANDY, Mr N Byrne reported that the gelding got it’s tongue over the bit during the race.

RACE EIGHT OPEN - 1600 M

On jumping away BRASSED shifted out abruptly and forced ALWAYS ASPIRE out onto GREY DESERT and THE SPUNK which resulted in ALWAYS ASPIRE being severely hampered and GREY DESERT and THE SPUNK being hampered.
