Race 1 – MAIDEN S/W - 1200 metres:
When the gates opened GRAND COGNAC reared and lost ground as a consequence.
On jumping away HELLO HENRY stumbled and KALLANNA KING knuckled.
Approaching the first turn PRETTY TUBBY got its head up when being restrained.

Race 2 – CLASS 1 HCP - 1000 metres:
When the gates opened CHEESECAKE was slow into stride.
On jumping away LION ROYALE shifted out onto CHILL FACTOR taking that gelding out onto KISS OF MAGIC
Near the 200 metres LION ROYALE became unbalanced and lost stride.

Race 3 – CLASS 1 HCP - 1300 metres:
On jumping away QUALITY DIAMOND shifted in and tightened LUNCH CLUB and CANNY’S CHOICE in onto NEGEV.

Race 4 - WELTER - 1900 metres:
In the straight NASH STREET hung in which prevented its rider W Orbell riding the gelding out in his normal manner.

Race 5 – CLASS 3 HCP - 1600 metres:
On jumping away SPICY SOUND shifted out and took VALIANT LAD out onto THE GABBA (NZ).
When the gates opened MR QUIGONG jumped away awkwardly and was then bumped by TENACIOUS.
Rounding the turn TENACIOUS had a tendency to lay out.
B Calkin, rider fo the winner MR QUIGONG was reprimanded for giving a victory salute prior to the winning post.

Race 6 – PALMERSTON SPRINT - 1200 metres:
On jumping away SHADOW BOXER shifted out and bumped SACRED SHIELD.
Near the 1100 metres ADAMARTAIG which was racing tight on the outside of OUR EDEN, was taken in by DESERT DANE (P Mertens). As a result ADAMARTAIG was taken in onto OUR EDEN which then bumped COOKE STREET (NZ). These horses raced tight and made contact for several strides until COOKE STREET (NZ) was eased and in so doing bumped CASHKALANI. When bumped, CASHKALANI went inwards and took EARTH LEGEND in onto CORPORATE POWER which had to be eased. When eased and for some distance after CORPORATE POWER got its head up and raced ungenerously.
In the early and middle stages CORPORATE POWER overraced and had to be eased.
Near the 1000 metres EARTH LEGEND had to be eased off the heels of CASHKALANI which shifted in. EARTH LEGEND got its head up when being restrained and raced ungenerously. Also at this point ADAMARTAIG and SHADOW BOXER came together when ADAMARTAIG shifted out.
P Mertens, rider of DESERT DANE was reprimanded for shifting in when not sufficiently clear and notified that in similar circumstances in future he must ensure he is 2 lengths clear prior to shifting ground.
During the event ADAMARTAIG suffered an attack of bleeding and is therefore subject to the embargoes as set out in AR53A.
1st CASHKALANI 2nd OUR EDEN 3rd DESERT DANE
Race 7 – CLASS 5 HCP - 1300 metres:
Near the 900 metres CALL THE HUNTER became unbalanced and shifted out and bumped GOLD IDEAL.
Over the concluding stages APIARY had a tendency to lay out and hampered CALL THE HUNTER.

Stewards fined licensed stablehand D King $50 for not displaying his current registration card in accordance with NT107.
