S Hillebrand rider of DRAPER was questioned about that filly’s performance today.  S Hillebrand stated that the filly showed no early pace but as the race progressed it continued to make ground.  S Hillebrand stated that in his opinion DRAPER needs a longer race to perform at its best.  Near the 200 metres DRAPER got in close to the running rail and became unbalanced.

Subsequent to the event B Davis was examined by the ambulance staff who reported that he was suffering heat stress.  Ambulance staff treated B Davis and subsequently reported that they were satisfied that he had recovered satisfactorily and was fit to fulfil his ride on SUNBLOCK in race 5.  Stewards reprimanded B Davis for unseemly behaviour in that he used language in the mounting yard, which was inappropriate.  Stewards took into account that he was feeling the effects of the heat at the time; however he was notified that his behaviour was unacceptable.
