On jumping away FREEDOM FUNDS shifted out and bumped PALACE LAD and forced that gelding out.

Rounding the home turn MR ENDURANCE was held up behind CRAZY COTTON which began to weaken.

As D Bates was indisposed stewards permitted the following rider changes.

D Leech, trainer of CRAZY COTTON was fined $30 for presenting that gelding without blinkers which it is approved to race in (AR140A).

When the gates opened BELIEVE IN VICTORY was slow into stride.

J Hallam (a), rider of ICHIKAWA was fined $150 for using his whip forward of the shoulder on that filly prior to the winning post (AR137A(2)(a)).

When the gates opened ENTITLEMENT reared and became cast and dislodged it’s rider M Osmond.

Rounding the turn OAKLEIGH BOY had a tendancy to lay out.

Rounding the turn SWAMP THING was bumped on several occassions by REDISON which was racing tight on the inside of ANELLO ROSSO.

Near the 100 metres ANELLA ROSSO was tightened from room and made contact with the hindquarters of REDISON when that gelding shifted out under pressure.

B Davis (a) rider of GROSVENOR LANE (NZ) was fined $200 for giving a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post (AR137(c)).

Over the concluding stages DABLOOM had a tendency to lay in which prevented it’s rider B Davis (a) from riding the gelding out in his normal manner.

Mr B Halter, trainer of OLD LUCKY was fined $30 for presenting that gelding without all of it’s approved gear (AR140A).
