Mr B Merrall, trainer of FLYING CAPE was fined $50 for presenting that gelding with incorrect gear (AR140(a))

Near the 650 metres FLYING CAPE tightened STUN GUN in onto SPAKATAK resulting in STUN GUN losing its position.

M Abe (a), rider of FLYING CAPE was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137 (a)).  The careless riding being near the 550 metres he permitted FLYING CAPE to shift in when not sufficiently clear of SPAKATAK.  As a result SPAKATAK had to be checked severely.  M Abe (a) was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Sunday 26th December, 2004.

During the event SPAKATAK sprung it’s off side plate.

Shortly after the start SHE’S A CARD shifted out taking RADIANT SOCIETY out onto WASN’T IT GOOD and that mare in turn out onto RHYTHMIC STEP.

When the gates opened BLETCHINGLY’S BEST threw its head up and jumped away awkwardly.

Near the 900 metres EYE EYE SIR was tightened for room by RUXTON which shifted in away from ADMIRAL HARRY.  The interference was accentuated by EYE EYE SIR which was reluctant to race close to the rail.
