RACE ONE MAIDEN SW (DIV 1) – 12OO M 

On jumping away BELLO DIVISTA was tightened for room between FLASH LIGHTNING and CHANGE YOUR TUNE.  Near the 1100m DESERT PROSPECT ridden by P Denton shifted in and took CHANGE YOUR TUNE in onto BELLO DIVISTA and it onto FLASH LIGHTNING.  P Denton was reprimanded and notified that he must ensure he is two lengths clear prior to shifting ground in future.

Shortly after this BELLO DIVISTA ridden by S Leckey shifted in and tightened FLASH LIGHTNING, which had a tendency to lay out, as a result FLASH LIGHTNING had to be checked.  S Leckey was reprimanded and notified that he must ensure that he does his upmost to protect his fellow riders in the future.

Mr R Severino trainer of RING OF DIAMONDS was fined $50 for failing to lodge a transfer of ownership for that mare as instructed as per Rule AR 175(p).  Mr Severino was also notified that until such time as the transfer of ownership was effected the nomination of the mare would not be accepted.

On jumping away BARTORQ and GOING STAG bumped.

RACE THREE        CLASS 6 HCP – 11OO M

When the gates opened GENERAL SWAMP, which was slow into stride shifted in abruptly.  Approaching the first turn GENERAL SWAMP, which was racing tight had to be eased when AMBER STYLE shifted in slightly, the interference was accentuated due to GENERAL SWAMP racing up onto the heels of the leader CALIGULA.  P Denton further stated that after losing its momentum at the 600m GENERAL SWAMP never got back into the race and struggled to finish on.  The Club’s Veterinary Surgeon inspected GENERAL SWAMP and could find no apparent abnormality.

RACE FOUR        CLASS 3 HCP – 12OO M

When the gates opened LUSKIN DREAMS jumped awkwardly and lost ground.  Near the 100m STREWTH shifted out to obtain a run on the outside of SUNDAY DRIVE.  As SUNDAY DRIVE was beginning to weaken STREWTH had to be checked off its heels, in doing so it shifted abruptly across the running of SONGMAKER.

When the gates opened DUSTELLA jumped awkwardly, threw its head up and lost ground.  Rounding the front turn DUSTELLA raced ungenerously and lost ground.

On jumping away GIRA had to be checked when tightened for room between ARINNA and GUNNEL which shifted in.

RACE SEVEN     CLASS 5 – 16OO M

Approaching the 1500m BEVAN was taken in by ORIGIN WARRIOR which was ridden by B Grimston.  As a result BEVAN became tight on the outside of HOT ASH SLAY, which in turn became tight onto ROYAL RAPIDASH , which then made contact with VIDAL turning it outwards.  Shortly after, due to all these horses bumping HOT ASH SLAY and ROYAL RAPIDASH became unbalanced and had to be checked.  B Grimston whilst not held fully responsible for the interference was notified that in future he must ensure he is two lengths clear prior to shifting ground.  The winner and second place getter were swabbed.

Pre race samples were taken from AZARIS, DUSTELLA, SPECTOR, LIMERICK SCENE, HEFTY, GRASS DANCER and KISSING DOWN.

Jockeys P Crich, S Leckey and C Moon were drug and alcohol tested today.
