Race 1 – CLASS 5 HANDICAP – 1400 metres:

Race 2 – CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

Mr N MOODY, trainer of SKIPPIN AND JUMPIN advised Stewards that he had advice from the horse’s previous trainer that SKIPPIN AND JUMPIN had run his best races when ridden back in the field and that he would issue his rider with those instructions today. No race incidents.

Race 3 – open handicap – 1200 metres:

READY AND GO shifted outwards shortly after the start. SOUTHERN RENEGADE raced very wide throughout the race. BRIGHT VISION appeared to strike the running rail at the 600 metre mark.

Race 4 – class 1 handicap - 1100 metres:

Start delayed when FIERY PROSPECTOR had to be re-saddled. Stewards asked jockey C MOON, rider of GAELIC DANCE who performed below expectations could he offer any reason. He stated that the mare had not raced at any stage of the race and had been under pressure throughout. He also stated that the mare had been up for a long time and maybe starting to sour. The trainer of GAELIC DANCE, Mrs L GILLETT stated that she was disappointed with the run and that she was of the opinion that the mare needed a spell and that she would be put in the paddock immediately. A veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A blood sample for analysis was also taken. THE SNARLING DOG pulled up lame in the offside hind leg and will require a veterinary certificate of soundness before being permitted to start again. HAUNTING CHANT returned to the enclosure very distressed and agitated and recovery was very slow. A veterinary certificate of fitness to race will be required by Stewards before being permitted to start again. Trainer of FIERY PROSPECTOR, Mr W SAVAGE fined the sum of $50 under ARR140 – Incorrect Saddling.

Race 5 – 3YO CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1100 metres:

GREIMOTA slow to begin. Subsequent to the race an inquiry was opened into the reason that jockey D McINTOSH weighed out and rode BROTHER HENRY in a body protector that had been modified. Inquiry adjourned until Monday 21 February 2005 at 4:00pm.
