BARROW was kicked by another runner prior to the start. After being examined by the Veterinarian BARROW was passed fit to start. LIKE ALESHIA (T Norton) knuckled over nearly falling as start effected. LEGAL REWARD (P Johnson) was slow to begin. Subsequent to the race Stewards questioned trainer Mr K LAMPRECHT, trainer of STREWTH and the rider of the horse B HUPPATZ in regard to the horses performing below expectations. Jockey B HUPPATZ stated that STREWTH had failed to respond to his riding at any stage of the race. Trainer Mr K LAMPRECHT stated that he was disappointed with the run and the horse had been working well through the week and he thought he could win. The only explanation he could give was the horse may have contacted a virus and he would have him checked by his Vet. An on course veterinarian examination revealed no abnormalities. The horse was also swabbed. Explanations noted by Stewards.
