BRIGHT VISION jumped outwards onto APAIRY as start effected. CHIGWIDDEN shifted in approaching the winning post. Jockey C MOON, rider of CHIGWIDDEN informed by Stewards that he must ensure he is sufficiently clear before shifting ground in the future.

Race 3 - WFA – 1 100 metres:

TOP SQUIRE reared as start effected loosing considerable ground. QUEEN OF THE NORTH threw her head in the air at start. Apprentice M HART reported to Stewards that SCOTRO had hung out from the 600 metre mark and then shifted out badly in the final stages of the race. Subsequent to the race correct weight was delayed as Stewards wished to view the film of the start. After doing so, TOP SQUIRE was deemed to have been given a fair start.

Race 4 – MAIDEN PLATE – 1 200 metres:

SANDOVER late scratching at 11.23am on veterinary advice. CENTRE JEWEL jumped outwards as start affected approaching the 600 metre mark AMANDASON had to be eased when CENTRE JEWEL rolled in. Apprentice S HILLEBRAND warned by Stewards that he must take care and be aware that horses can roll in at that point.

Race 5 – CLASS B HANDICAP – 1 200 metres:

LYSCENE jumped outwards bumping with FIERY PROSPECTOR. LITIGIOUS slow away. RUMBARELLA bumped with HOT CHILLI WOMAN as start effected. Stewards questioned the rider of RUMBARELLA, W STACEY and the trainer Mr M RUMBLE in regards to the run of gelding. MR RUMBLE stated to Steward that he had instructed the rider to allow the horse to get balanced but did not expect it to be so far out of its ground in the early stages of the race. Apprentice W STACEY stated that after jumping awkwardly the horse was inclined to climb and race ungenerously until about the 800 metre mark when it picked up the bit and ran home strongly. Stewards informed W STACEY that they would expect him to use more initiative and endeavour and show more vigour in the early stages of a race in the future to enable him to place his horse in the best possible position.

SPICY SOUND jumped outwards as start effected. About 100 meters after the start DESAMO (USA) appeared to stumble on two occasions.

Race 7 - WFA – 1 900 metres:

SOUTHERN RENEGADE reared just prior to start being effected and DUCHNOVY slow away. STAR QUEST raced wide from about the 1 200 metre mark. TRAFFORD faltered at about the 650 metre mark and was eased out of the race. Subsequent to the race the veterinarian reported that TRAFFORD had appeared to suffer an injury to his near fore suspensory.
