RACE ONE MAIDEN S/W – 16OO M

Shortly after the start AUTRICITY shifted out and tightened DESERT REEF onto LAVA FLOW which was also taken in by BRODGAR. As a result DESERT REEF had to be checked and LAVA FLOW got its head up and raced ungenerously for some strides.

Mr K Lamprecht, trainer of DESERT REEF was fined $20 for using club colours.

RACE TWO        CLASS 6 HCP – 1OOO M

Near the 600 metres CRAZY COTTON was tightened for room and raced awkwardly for some time between THE BURCUTTER which rolled out slightly and GENERAL SWAMP.  CRAZY COTTON continued to race tight between those runners until the entrance to the straight when it had to be eased.

Subsequent to the event the clubs veterinary surgeon inspected GENERAL SWAMP which performed poorly and reported that he could find no apparent abnormality.

RACE THREE        CLASS 4 HCP – 1OOO M

When the gates opened XHAFERS ROLL bounded and ROYAL RISING jumped away awkwardly.

50 metres after the start GEIGER BLUE had to be eased off the heels of XHAFERS ROLL which shifted in slightly.

Mr K Lamprecht, trainer of ZISSI was fined $50 for the late notification of a rider for that filly NT129 (c).

P Denton, rider of COST EFFECTIVE notified the stewards that the gelding had pulled up lame in the off foreleg.  The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected COST EFFECTIVE subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding was lame in the near foreleg.

RACE FOUR       CLASS B HCP – 13OO M

After being placed in the barriers ADMIRAL HARRY broke through the front gates.

Shortly after the start FOGHORN LEGHORN shifted in and took SANCAY in onto CRY MACRIST.

Near the 1000 metres PRUNINGS had to be eased off the heels of PICAYUNE which shifted in.

RACE FIVE        CLASS 5 HCP – 15OO M

When the gates opened BABOUCHKE jumped away awkwardly and in so doing shifted in taking TRAFFORD (NZ) in onto IRISH INTRIGUE hampering that gelding.

The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected IRISH INTRIGUE subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding was lame in the near foreleg.

Mr K Sweeney, trainer of IRISH INTRIGUE was fined $100 for negligence in the saddling of that gelding in that it was presented with the incorrect saddlecloth number (AR140(a)).

RACE SIX COLEMANS CUP – 12OO M

When the gates opened BE STRONG jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

On jumping away EDGING AROUND shifted out and tightened SONG MEKONG hampering that gelding.

Near the 700 metres BE STRONG got its head up when being eased.
