On jumping away TASTE D’VINE shifted out and bumped LORD BALMAIN. AUTRICITY knuckled and became unbalanced and in so doing bumped TITO.
Rounding the turn LORD BALMAIN, which was making ground was tightened for room by TAST D’VINE.
On the home turn BALBRIGGAN was tightened between TITO and WOOD VICE.

Turning out of the straight KISSING DOWN was tightened for room by SHODIYM which shifted in.
Stewards questioned D Bates, rider of KISSING DOWN which performed poorly. D Bates stated that the gelding raced untractably for the majority of the race and never travelled well at any stage, further that in his opinion KISSING DOWN was not suited by the track.

After passing the 800 metres BE STRONG began to overrace and raced ungenerously.
Rounding the home turn BE STRONG got its head up and shifted out abruptly onto SYLVAN GREEN.
