MR CHEVY was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.

When placed under pressure by its rider B. Stewart near the 200m, SANDASTA shifted out hampering VARNA and RORY'S NORTH.

After being held up momentarily in the early stages of the straight, WESTERN SUCCESS was inconvenienced over the concluding stages by KID TREASURE which shifted out under pressure.

When BOMBAY SAPPHIRE shifted out around the heels of MARBINE to obtain clear running at the 250m, FRENCH GENTLEMAN was taken out on to ICY PRIDE which in turn caused some inconvenience to RENAZZO. When placed under pressure, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE continued to drift out, hampering FRENCH GENTLEMAN. L. Appo, the rider of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE, was cautioned and urged to exercise more care.

KYMESSA shifted ground outwards under pressure over the concluding stages. The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that KYMESSA pulled up sore in both fetlock joints, particularly the near fore.

Trainer D. Gafa advised that in light of today's slightly disappointing performance, AMAIZCAY would be sent for a spell.

RACE 5: FUTURE FLOOR SERVICES H'CAP - 1200M

VIVID MISS jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly, tightening CAPICE on to LITTLE DEUCE COUPE which as a consequence lost ground.

On the first turn JENIBRIA ran up on to the heels of PEDRO'S GIRL and had to be checked.

RACE 8: HORSES' BIRTHDAY H'CAP - 1110M

On return to scale a protest was lodged by D. Evans, the rider of 4th placegetter MALTESE EDITION, against GREAT CRUSADER (M. McDonald) being declared the winner, alleging interference near the 800m. Whilst it was established that GREAT CRUSADER had shifted in approaching the first turn causing some tightening to VETERAN, PERLE D'OR and MALTESE EDITION, stewards dismissed the objection as they satisfied that MALTESE EDITION ultimately lots its running as a consequence of PHOROUS shifting away from the running rail to that horse's inside. At a subsequent inquiry, M. McDonald, the rider of GREAT CRUSADER, was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in when not quite clear of VETERAN, causing the aforementioned tightening. When MALTESE EDITION lost ground abruptly at the 800m, WISELINK and GREY REGENT had to be checked.

KULNURA blundered badly at the start.

WISELINK jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

Approaching the home turn KULNURA had to be steadied away from the heels of LORD KARIOI when taken out slightly by MALTESE EDITION.
