PROUD INVADER jumped inwards at the start and brushed with GOLDEN GOOSE. Jockey M Cullen reported that his mount SNAPPY BOOTS appeared to be field shy and that he advised the connections to add blinkers to the horse's gear in future starts.

RACE 2: CLASS 3 PLATE - 1100 METRES

Stewards questioned App DW Ballard, Jockey A Spradau and Jockey Ms D Slack-Smith in regards to an incident approaching the 250 metre mark when SWIVEL obtained a run to the inside of SONGMAKER. After considering all the evidence submitted, viewing of the patrol film footage of the incident and on their own observations, Stewards decided to take no further action due to the conflicting nature of the evidence submitted and the poor quality of the patrol film footage of the incident.

RACE 3: CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1450 METRES

MCAVANEY ran off the track rounding the home turn and even though the horse completed the event, it finished a considerable distance from the remainder of the field. When questioned by Stewards, Jockey L Critoph reported that the horse had travelled well in running, but approaching the home turn just locked on to the bit and refused to respond to any attempts to steer the horse around the home turn. A thorough veterinary examination by the Club Veterinary Surgeon failed to reveal any abnormalities. As the horse had not shown any traits of this nature previously, Stewards placed only a warning on the horse in regards to its racing manners, but advised connections that a repeat simular to to-day would see an embargo being placed on the horse.

RACE 4:. WEIGHT FOR AGE - 1450 METRES

Stewards granted the connections of THE INSPECTOR approval to change from the declared rider, L Critoph to C Rixon due to a misunderstanding in both riders being dually booked for the horse. The connections advised that Jockey L Critoph would be compensated the relevant riding fees. No incidents in running.

RACE 5: WEIGHT FOR AGE - 1000 METRES

NONO was fractious in the barrier prior to the start. POWLETT MEWS returned to scale with a trickle of blood in one nostril. A routine swab sample was obtained from the horse.

RACE 6: FOSSIL TRAIL SERIES FINAL CLASS 6 PLATE - 1200 METRES

RUUP lost ground at the start when the horse lost it's footing and stumbled. DARTBROOK KING had a tendency to hang inwards over the final 250 metres resulting in Jockey M Cullen having to stop riding on more than one occasion. Routine swab samples were obtained from both the second placegetter DARTBROOK KING, and also the third placegetter BOYARIN (NZ)
