RACE 1: KILCOY'S EXCHANGE HOTEL H'AP - 1200M.

No racing incidents.

RACE 2: TERRY LUCAS H'CAP - 1500M.

RUSSNIAK was slow to begin.

TRUE GRUNT hung out rounding the first turn, then ran wide passing the 800m. and home turn.

After passing the 500m., CLASSIC INDEED shifted out and made contact with SPINOUT. A short distance later, CLASSIC INDEED had to be steadied off the heels of REBEL CHIEF.

Approaching the 300m., REBEL CHIEF had to be steadied to avoid the heels of TAMARENA, which shifted in. B. Calkin, rider of TAMARENA, was severely reprimanded and reminded of his obligations to be sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

RACE 3: CHARLIE RILLEY BIRTHDAY H'CAP - 800M.

STACKER was slow to begin.

GISTTOP jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

KAYLIBB jumped outwards at the start and made contact with MARKWAY COUNTY.

A short distance after the start, OSCAR MAN attempted to buck. A warning was placed on OSCAR MAN.

RACE 4: BOB TURNBULL H'CAP - 800M.

BUCK WHAN was slow to begin.

Near the 600m., DANGER SPICE shifted in, making contact with PRINCESS DOON, which became unbalanced. MAGICAL MAN, which was following, was also hampered.

When questioned regarding the improved performance of PRINCESS DOON today, trainer C. Smith stated that the mare led at its previous start over 1000 metres at Dalby on 3 September, however compounded over the concluding stages. He added that, in his opinion, PRINCESS DOON failed to run out the 1000m. journey.

RACE 5: KILCOY'S STANLEY HOTEL H'CAP - 800M.

BABYLON QUEEN and GO TELEST were slow to begin.

Rounding the home turn, FLYING MAIZCAY hung out and made contact with SHALARI, which became unbalanced.

Approaching the 50m., CHARVILLA shifted out to avoid the heel of FLYING MAIZCAY, and then was held up for clear running over the concluding stages.

RACE 6: KILCOY BAKERY H'CAP - 1060M.

After riding in race 5, D. Van Bekkum was examined by the club's ambulance officer and stood down from her remaining engagements. A. Best was substituted as the rider of NEIGH HIGH and L. Fitzsimmons as the rider of TOLGA DAN (Race 7).

A veterinary examination of NEIGH HIGH following the event revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg.

RACE 7: JOHN FORDE H'CAP - 1500M.

As M. Dracos (SO BLUE) and S. Wright (SAHARA CANNY) were indisposed, L. Morrison and A. Best were substituted as the riders of those respective horses.

JUST A GIGOLO was slow to begin.

Approaching the first turn, EMANCIPATE hung out and then continued to hang out for the remainder of the event. Trainer T. Hall was advised that the mare must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before its next race start.

R. Goltz, rider of SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that after passing the winning post on the first occasion he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of JUST A GIGOLO, resulting in JUST A GIGALO having to be checked and taken in on to A'SQUADRO, which in turn was forced in on to CELEBRITY BLAZE. In this incident, CELERITY BLAZE made heavy contact with the running rail, losing its position. PETE'S REVENGE, which was following CELEBRITY BLAZE, was obliged to shift out abruptly to avoid that gelding. R. Goltz was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 8 meetings. R. Goltz, rider of SPECIAL KNOWELDGE, was found guilty of a further charge of careless riding, in that whilst riding his mount along rounding the home turn he allowed SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE to shift in when insufficiently clear of TOLGA DAN, resulting in TOLGA DAN having to be checked. R. Goltz was suspended for a period covered by 7 meetings, such penalty to be served concurrently with the suspension previously incurred in this race, to commence at midnight 14 September, and to expire at midnight 28 September 2002.

Near the 900m., when steadying off the heels of SO BLUE, TOLGA DAN commenced to overrace. A'SQUADRO, which was following, had to be steadied off the heels of TOLGA DAN.

Making the home turn, PETE'S REVENGE shifted out, taking JUST A GIGOLO out across the heels of WIRRADILLA, which had to be checked. P. Spry, rider of PETE'S REVENGE, was severely reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he must make more effort to prevent his mounts shifting ground.

Trainer S. Andrew reported that SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE lost its off hind plate in running.
