Bryant's Week Goes from Bad to Worse

Leading Adelaide apprentice Chris Bryant must be pleased this week comes to an end tomorrow.

The promising claimer had his immediate future put on the sidelines when stewards outed him for careless riding at the twilight meeting at Victoria Park yesterday.

Today the youngster was involved in a heavy fall at Port Lincoln, on the state's west coast, and he appears to have broken a collarbone and will be out of the saddle for atleast a month.

It's a major blow to the youngster, who had been riding throughout the state in good form.

On Saturday Bryant was booked for six rides including strong chances Heracles, Reflexes, Elephant Rock and Wyndam All. He also had five early rides at Clare's meeting the following afternoon.

Bryant was catapulted to the turf at Port Lincoln today after his mount Digbury clipped the heels of the leader and crashed to the track.

During the incident two other runners fell, but their riders Wayne Kerford and Darren Holland, escaped serious injury, although not completing their mounts in later races.
