SPHINXI (C. Buchiw) was slow to begin.

GREY NIPPER (J. Burgess) jumped out at the start and bumped BROAG BOY (W. Kerford), resulting in that gelding losing some ground.

RACE 2 – HALLETT BRICKS DISTANCE MAIDEN PLATE – 1750 metres:

Inside the 100 metres BLAZING IMAGE (P. Gatt) laid in, forcing its rider to stop riding and straighten his mount.

RACE 3 – BENNIE’S BUILDING COMPANY / SABIS MAIDEN PLATE (1st Division) – 1200 metres:

Correct Weight was delayed to permit S. Price, rider of MOI 2nd Placegetter, to view the official head-on film of the finish. After doing so S. Price lodged an objection against JASMYN BLOOMS (C. Lindop) being declared the winner, on the grounds of alleged interference at the 200 metres and again over the final 50 metres. After considering the evidence, viewing the official films and on their own observations, Stewards dismissed the objection.

ESKION (P. Gatt) showed a tendency to lay out in the vicinity of the 1000 metres.

MOI (S. Price) was disappointed for a clear run in the vicinity of the 350 metres.

Near the 200 metres JASMYN BLOOMS (C. Lindop) hung in at the same time as DANELEAH (K. Stra) shifted out, and as a result MOI (S. Price) had to be steadied momentarily.

Over the concluding stages JASMYN BLOOMS (C. Lindop) again showed a tendency to lay in, forcing its rider to stop riding and straighten her mount and as a result MOI (S. Price) was slightly inconvenienced.

Subsequent to the race a Veterinary examination of ESKION revealed no visible abnormalities.

RACE 6 – INTERNATIONAL GAMING TECHNOLOGY HANDICAP – 1750 metres:

Approaching the finish line BROOKSIDE BELLE (C. Lindop) shifted out at the same time as KOORAN KID (W. Kerford) shifted in slightly, and as a result LOCANDO (P. Gatt), which was racing between those two horses had to be steadied. C. Lindop and W. Kerford were reminded of their obligations when riding their mounts out to the line.

RACE 7 – JOHN LOWE DESIGN CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1250 metres:

BROKEN CREST was a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 2.25 p.m. when there was no rider available.

Near the 350 metres TENOR BILL (B. Grimston) shifted out and as a result ABSCENE (B. Vale) had to be steadied for a few strides. B. Grimston was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground.
