Close Shave for Adelaide Chief Steward

0318loch.jpg (12058 bytes)The South Australian Racing industry dug deep for the Leukaemia Foundation of Australia last weekend with some of it's personnel participating in the "World's Greatest Shave For A Cure".

Jockeys Jason Holder, Wayne Kerford, Joe Bowditch, David Carney, Jeff Maund, Paul Gatt, Ben Claridge and Nozi Tomizawa, trainer David Pannell, Thoroughbred Racing SA Racing Department's Craig Kutcher, Rhett Cook and Jason Hickson, Sky Channel's Scott Edgecombe and The Advertiser journalist Matt Clemow, along with the prized "scalp" of TRSA Chairman of Stewards Mr Graham Loch, went under the blade to raise money to find a cure for Childhood Leukaemia.

Mr Loch put a price of $5000 on his head, (pictured getting a close shave from leading rider Joe Bowditch) which was easily reached by the jockeys, and leading rider Joe Bowditch paid an extra $300 just for the honour of lopping off Loch's locks. In total the participants raised just short of $10,000.

Many thanks go to the jockeys and Mr Loch for their support, as well as those who generously donated to the cause.
