RACE 1 – TATIARA TRADERS DAY / SABIS COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE – 1200 metres

Shortly after the start CHIEF FRAAR (J. Lyon) shifted in abruptly and as a result ROYAL PLAYER (G. Hoobin) had to be eased.

Approaching the 300 metres NIP OF RED (J. Julian) had to be eased due to WHAT A HEART (M. Neilson) shifting out. M. Neilson was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

J. Julian, rider of NIP OF RED, explained that he was unable to ride the gelding out in his normal manner over the final 100 metres, due to a reoccurrence of an injury to his right hand. J. Julian was relieved of his riding obligations for the remainder of the day.

RACE 2 – TATIARA TRADERS DAY / SABIS FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN PLATE – 1200 metres

M. Neilson, rider of CONSIDER IT DONE, reported that when the gates were released the inside barrier gate swung back.

G. Hoobin, rider of HOSTILE INTENT, reported that racing to the 600 metres the filly had raced greenly and as a result lost ground.

Racing to the 400 metres CONSIDER IT DONE (M. Neilson) shifted out and as a result inconvenienced KEEP ME DANCING (D. Yendall) and took that mare wider on the track. M. Neilson was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Racing to the 200 metres SWANG (D. Cleaver) shifted out and as a result THE STRONGEST LINK (M. Henderson) shifted away abruptly from that filly and as a result inconvenienced HONEYED (P. Marks).

Shortly after the 200 metres CONSIDER IT DONE (M. Neilson) shifted in abruptly. M. Neilson was advised in future he should stop riding and straighten his mounts.

RACE 3 – CLUB HOTEL KANIVA FLYING HANDICAP – 1100 metres

The start of this race was delayed due to POWER FROM PORT rearing in the gates and undergoing a Veterinary examination, which declared the gelding fit. Mr. B. Searle, Trainer of POWER FROM PORT, was advised a repetition of the gelding’s barrier manners could lead to action being taken against it.

RACE 4 – TATIARA TRADERS DAY CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1100 metres

RURAL FORREST (D. Cleaver) jumped away awkwardly and inconvenienced MANHATTAN BELLE (J. Lyon).

TUFFACT (B. Blacker) was slow to begin.

B. Blacker, rider of TUFFACT, explained that from the wide barrier the gelding had hung out throughout the race and as a result she was trapped wide and unable to get a better position in the race.

TUFFACT dislodged B. Blacker at the conclusion of the race and as a result B. Blacker was examined by the Ambulance Officers and declared fit to ride for the remainder of the day.

J. Lyon, rider of the 5th Placegetter MANHATTAN BELLE, was severely reprimanded for failing to weigh in.

RACE 5 – TATIARA TRADERS DAY CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1900 metres

OUR ROWDEE BOYS (W. Kerford) went very wide making the 1500 turn.

RACE 6 – TATIARA TRADERS DAY CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1200 metres

Racing to the 300 metres RARE PRAISE (C. Robertson) was held up for a run behind GOLDEN KOLOLO (S. Harrison) and was unable to obtain a clear run until after passing the 200 metres.

RACE 7 – TATIARA TRADERS DAY CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1300 metres

IVY’S BAMASH (G. O’Loughlin) was fractious in the barrier.

RACE 8 – TATIARA TRADERS DAY DISTANCE MAIDEN PLATE – 1900 metres

NON NEGOTIABLE (S. Harrison) jumped away awkwardly.

BROTHER WINSTON (J. Lyon) was very slow to begin.

Racing to the 800 metres RULE BY CHARM (G. Hoobin) eased off the heels of MOONEY (C. Puls) and as a result shifted out and inconvenienced OSH (W. Kerford).
