Lot 268 Bay Colt Catbird – One Chance

Another offering from Catbird’s first crop this colt is from the US winning mare One Chance.  One Chance has had four to race including the stakeswinner Rolling Dice and her grand dam is the SP Break Through dam of SW Ribbon (dam of Multiple Group 1 winner Risen Star).  Offered by Highgrove Stud this colt was purchased by Rick Worthington, NSW, for $102,500.

Lot 281 Brown Filly Xaar – Patronella

Offered by Summerset Park Stud this filly is by Xaar a champion 2yo in Europe whose first Australian crop are now yearlings.   This filly is from Mister C mare Patronella who has produced stakeswinners Stella Artois and Smytzer’s Trish from her two previous filly foals to race.  This filly was purchased by Lawton Thoroughbred Racing, NSW, for $70,000.

Lot 282 Bay Colt Encosta De Lago – Peace Babe

Offered by Lakewood Stud & Tosca Farm this colt is by promising young sire Encosta De Lago who has sired the stakeswinners Chong Tong, Lashed, Delago Brom, Gold Lottey with his oldest only 4yos.  Peace Babe is an unraced Brigand mare and this is her first living foal but she is from Makepeace dam of stakeswinners Mon Mekki and Make A Scene plus 4 other winners.  This filly was purchased by Lee Hope, Vic, for $72,500.

Lot 285 Chestnut Colt General Nediym – Petagina

Offered by JH & PL Glenney this colt is sired by popular young stallion General Nediym from the Perugino mare Petagina.   This is Petagina’s first foal but she is from the stakeswinner Pecky’s Pet who in turn was foaled by She is Gorgeous a stakeswinner who won 16 races including 5 as a 2yo.  She then went on to produce 10 foals for 9 winners including 4 stakeswinners.  This colt was purchased by Magic Millions as Agent for $205,000.

Lot 290 Brown Filly Fuji Kiseki – Plummy

Sired by successful Sunday Silence stallion Fuji Kiseki this filly is the first live foal from Centaine mare Plummy.   Plummy, who was unraced, was from the stakeswinner Facing the Music who has only produced 3 foals including the winner Planxty.  Offered by Rothwell Park this filly was purchased by Lee Hope, Vic, for $62,500.

Lot 300 Bay Filly Snippets – Rarely Caught

Offered by Flower Hill Stud this filly is by the champion stallion Snippets who died last year and is from the Danzatore mare Rarely Caught.  Rarely Caught is the dam of four foals to race including the stakeswinner Reputed Groom and is from the Group 1 stakeswinner Neliska who has produced 8 winners at stud including the stakeswinner Walken.  This filly was purchased by TC Bloodstock, ACT, for $110,000.

Lot 308 Bay colt King of Kings – Regencia

Offered by Brooklyn Park Stud this colt is by King of Kings from the New Regent mare Regencia.  Regencia won three races and is from the winner Halford (dam of Happen to Be) who in turn was foaled by Hapa Halae who produced 9 winners at stud including the stakeswinner Carlyle Ben.  This colt was purchased by Aquanita Racing, Vic, for $56,000.

Lot 322 Bay Filly Zeditave – Sandy’s Glow

Another of Zeditave’s draft was this filly from Danehill mare Sandy’s Glow.  Sandy’s Glow is from Sandy’s March, dam of SW Sandy’s Pleasure, who was from stakeswinner Sanderae.  Offered by Ducatoon Park this filly was purchased by Terry Kelly, Vic, from $57,500.

Lot 333 Chestnut Colt Hennessy – Shared Destinies

Offered by Bahram Stud Farm this colt is by Storm Cat stallion Hennessy from the Conquistador Cielo mare Shared Destinies.   Shared Destinies has produced 7 foals to race for 6 winners including the stakesplaced Fellowship.  This colt was purchased by Leon Macdonald, SA, for $67,500.

Lot 334 Chestnut Filly Rory’s Jester – Shine on Brightly

Golden Slipper winner Rory’s Jester is a legendary sire of speedy early maturing horses and is the sire of over 60 stakeswinners including Chortle, Aragen, North Boy, Racer’s Edge, Isca, Moss Rocket, Speed Week, etc.  This filly is the first foal of Shine on Brightly who was from Touch and Glow (dam of SP Floridays and multiple winner Star Aglow) who was foaled by Princess Talaria the Group 1 winning filly and grand dam of Silver Flyer, Valuate, Sir Amadi, etc.  Offered by Collingrove Stud this filly was purchased by Graeme Rogerson Bloodstock, NSW, for $60,000.

Lot 338 Chestnut Colt Snippets – Silver Court

Offered by Attunga Stud this chestnut colt is the second foal of Silver Court.  Silver Court is from Lady Chancery, dam of SW Firing Range, foaled by Cassie the dame of Oriental Ruler and Halo Again (dam of Be Discreet, She’s Discreet, Oh So Discreet and Gilded Angel).  This colt was purchased by Aquanita Racing, Vic, for $85,000.

Lot 369 Bay Colt Armidale – Toujours Dansant

Offered by Riverdene Stud this colt is by Rory’s Jester sire Armidale the sire of Armadancer, Armagun, Armacruzin, Bold Jester, Romar Dale etc with his oldest progeny now 3yos.  Toujours Dansant has produced 6 foals to race for five winners and is a half sister to champion stayer Toujours Mio.   This colt was purchased by Aquanita Racing, Vic, for $13,000.

Lot 378 Bay Filly Nothin’ Leica Dane – Wrangler Girl

Offered by State Colours Lodge this filly is sired by Nothin Leica Dane whose oldest progeny are currently 3yos.  Wrangler Girl is the dam of one foal to race the winner Final Suite and is a sister to the stakesplaced winner Wrangler Boy.  This filly was purchased by John Symons, Vic for $13,500.

Lot 389 Bay Filly Umatilla – Antitheta

Offered by BE Wise, PH Hunt & RJ Trim this filly is by Umatilla the sire of over 12 stakeswinners including Bohemiath, Streak, Umrum, Umaline, Stand By Line, Li Lo Lil, Lisa’s Game, etc.  Antitheta is the dam of three foals to race including the multiple winner New Nephew and is from Yeletah Lazar the dam of stakeswinners New Atlantis and New Logic.  This filly was purchased by Gary Kennewell, SA, for $12,000.

Lot 394 Bay Colt Brackenbury – Balmoral Princess

Danehill stallion Brackenbury is the sire of this colt and his oldest progeny are now 3yos.  This colt is Redding mare Balmoral Princess’ first foal but she was foaled by Petite Royale dam of stakeswinners Garter King, Royal Sceptre and Orb.  Offered by Ampulla Lodge this colt was purchased by Willow Park Ltd for $12,000.

Lot 405 Bay Colt Bellotto – Bokasah

Offered by Lakewood Stud this colt is by the evergreen stallion Bellotto from the Amen Brother mare Bokasah.  Bokasah won six races and this is her second foal.  This colt was purchased by Aquanita Racing, Vic, for $35,000.

Lot 409 Bay Colt Centre Stalls – Cash Your Chips

Offered by Willow Grove Stud is this colt one of the first crop of In the Wings stallions Centre Stalls.  Centre Stalls was a multiple stakeswinner during his short career and was placed at Group 1 level.  He is by Sadlers Wells sire In the Wings and his oldest progeny are now yearlings.  Cash Your Chips is an unraced Real Cash mare and this is her first foal.  The grand dam of Cash Your Chips is Sharn Ombre dam of Sharne’s Girl who produced the Group 1 winner Sublimate and stakeswinner Daring Hombre.  This colt was purchased by Tom Sweeney for $20,000.

Lot 429 Bay Colt Tayasu Tsuyoshi – Gala Jazz

Offered by JH & PL Glenney this colt is by the first season Sunday Silence stallion Tayasu Tsuyoshi who won the Group 1 Japan Derby during his career.  He has sired the stakes performers Nasdaq Power, DS Thunder, I Am Tsuyoshi, etc in Japan and his oldest Australian progeny are yearlings.   Gala Jazz is a winning Almurtajaz mare and this is her second foal.  She is from Gold Galaxy who has produced 6 winners including Gala Angel, Gilded Star and Gala Halo.  This colt was purchased by Aquanita Racing, Vic, for $29,000.

Lot 433 Bay Filly Desert Sun – Gulchwood

Offered by BJ Schutz this filly is by the sire of champion Sunline in Desert Sun who is renowned for producing outstanding fillies.   He is also the sire of Our Egyptian Raine, Moralee, Ebony Honor, Real Time, La Bella Dama, etc  Gulchwood is a Thunder Gulch mare who was a winner at 2 years and went to stud soon after producing this filly her first foal.  She is from the Stakeswinner Miss Woodleigh dam of SW Finally, My Millennium plus two other winners.   This filly was purchased by David Balfour for $43,000 and was the top selling filly of the summer session. 

Lot 453 Chestnut Colt Centre Stalls – Long Stem

Another offering from the first draft of Centre Stalls is this colt from the Bluebird mare Long Stem.  Long Stem is the dam of stakeswinner Gift Bouquet plus 2 other winners from three to race.  Offered by Willow Grove Stud this colt was purchased by Gary Curtis for $12,000.

Lot 477 Bay Colt Umatilla – Paru Paru

Offered by Baramul Stud this Umatilla colt is from the Bluebird mare Paru Paru.  Paru Paru has produced two winners and is from the outstanding racemare Deck The Halls who also produced the stakeswinner Above Deck, SP Flight Deck and Loch Tay dam of SW Lady of the Turf in South Africa.  This colt was purchased by Aquanita Racing for $25,000.

Lot 478 Brown Colt General Monash – Passionate

Offered by Tamarisk Park this colt is a member of the only Australian crop of the ill fated General Monash.  He is from the Luskin Star mare Passionate who is from the stakeswinner Cinita.  This colt was purchased by Aquanita Racing for $18,000.

Lot 485 Brown Colt Centre Stalls – Press To Play

This colt was the top seller of the summer session being purchased by Rick Hore Lacy for $44,000 after being offered by Willow Grove Stud.  Sired by the well received Centre Stalls this colt is from the city winner Press To Play who has produced one foal to race the winner Marlborough Girl.   Press To Play is from Mind Games, a half sister to Reelia Goddess (dam of Red Hope), who has produced 4 winners from 6 to race.

Lot 489 Bay Filly Made of Gold – Princess Remarco

Offered by Ellendale this filly is by Made of Gold the sire of stakeswinners Maitland Gold, Gold Crystal, Mint of Gold, Gilded Angel, Smytzer’s Rivalry, Cosmic Strike etc and many were offered through the Adelaide yearling sales.  Princess Remarco was a multiple city winner and has produced the multiple winner Prince Zeddaan.  This filly was purchased by Aquanita Racing for $42,000.

Lot 512 Chestnut Colt Jeune – Sparkling

Offered by Flower Hill Stud this colt is by former Australian Horse of the Year Jeune who has produced Lolita Star, Party Boy, After Beune, Pompous, El Nino etc at stud.  Sparkling is a Crystal Palace mare who has produced 6 winners including the SP Brighteyed during her stud career.  This colt was purchased by Beh Chin Pheng, MAL for $37,000

Lot 517 Bay Colt Monolith – Star Sign Girl

Offered by Lakewood Stud this colt is by the Danehill sire Monolith whose oldest progeny are now yearlings.  Star Sign Girl was a multiple city winner and has produced three foals to race all being winners.   This colt was purchased by Brenton Willoughby for $20,000.

Lot 520 Bay Filly Gallo Di Ferro – Summer Leah

Offered by Willow Grove Stud this filly is by Gallo Di Ferro sire of the promising Neptune Island, Blue Venture, Marlborough Girl etc with only a handful of starters so far.  Summer Leah is the dam of 11 race winner Rothbury and Hexham winner of 7 races and this Imposing mare won multiple city races herself.  This filly was purchased by K Sweeney for $12,000.
