RACE 1 – CEDUNA BULK HAULIERS CLASS 6 HANDICAP – 1000 metres

In the vicinity of the 250 metres CANADIAN COMET (J. Burgess) and LIMA JULIET (J. Marks) bumped solidly.

J. Burgess, rider of CANADIAN COMET, reported her mount slipped upon jumping out of the gates.

Stewards permitted Apprentice B. Dunn to ride MOTTO ½ kilogram overweight in this event.

RACE 2 – CEDUNA THRIFTY LINK / WEST COAST FUEL / SABIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200 metres

SOUTHERN TOUCH (R. Faehr) was slow to begin.

Near the 200 metres SOUTHERN TOUCH (R. Faehr) rolled in onto TOUCH OF GREY (J. Marks). R. Faehr was advised of his obligations to in future stop riding and straighten his mounts.

In the vicinity of the 200 metres SPECIAL LOVE was eased out of the event by J. Burgess when she became concerned with its action. A subsequent Veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

RACE 3 – CEDUNA FOODLAND / LAUCKE MILLING / SABIS CLASS D HANDICAP - 1200 metres

Stewards withdrew RUDI’S JOY at 2.59 p.m. when that mare was unable to leave the Mounting Yard with the rest of the field.

Stewards ruled that all monies invested on RUDI’S JOY be refunded. Bets made on other runners prior to the withdrawal were to be paid on the face value of the ticket less:
Bets for a WIN 20 cents in the dollar, and
Bets for a PLACE 21 cents in the dollar.
SP bets are subject to the deductions.

Near the 200 metres TRUE CURRENCY (J. Marks) shifted in abruptly when struck with the whip. J. Marks was advised to take more care in similar circumstances.
