Wednesday's Murray Bridge Races Report

Murray Bridge mentor Paul Seater and jockey Clare Lindop were in top form when they were associated in the back to back wins of Fine Calibre and Puerto Banus at Murray Bridge on Wednesday.

Fine Calibre, with American blood on both sides, the four year old French Deputy mare from the Gone West mare Anniegetyourgun, gave Lindop the middle leg of a treble and provided Seater with the first of two wins.

Starting at $6 Fine Calibre was always in contention and greeted the judge with three quarters of a length to spare over the Brian Mueller charge, the apprentice Lauren Stojakovic ridden Just Sybil $5. The $2.60 favourite Saint Sha Rose was another one and a half lengths away filling the minor placing for David Jolly and the stable apprentice Claudia Lions.

Paul Seater and Clare Lindop shared in the long neck win of Puerto Banus $5 in the 1400 metre sixth race.

From the Woodman matron Laetitia and fathered by Encosta de Lago, Puerto Banus was well to the fore throughout the event and beat the $3.10 public elect Fast Frank, cared for by Daniel Clarken and ridden by his apprentice Lauren Stojakovic.

A father length away third was Snapertude $8 for Barbara Geracitano and Paul Gatt.

Riding for the Macdonald/Gluyas training combination Clare Lindop gained the first leg of her treble when Counter Claim $4.20 was the two length winner of the 1000 metre opening event.

A two year old gelding by the Irish bred stallion Grandera out of the Geiger Counter mare Counter Sue, Counter Claim came from last on the home turn to beat Mark Kavanagh mentored Simon Price mount Strum Cha $3.60. Another three lengths away third was Lilgiggleo $8 for Paula Trenwith and Chad Lever.

The United States bred stallion Johannesburg and the Brocco mare Roccina were responsible for Roccin Jo $9 the one and three quarter length winner of the 1000 metre second race.

Being under the care of Dennis O’Leary and having the services of Dominic Tourneur Roccin Jo came from well back and beat Levitator $3.60 for trainer Paul Seater and jockey Paul Gatt. The $3 public elect Andamooka Gem was a farther one and three quarter lengths away third for Mark Minervini and Adrian Patterson.

The combination of mentor David Jolly and jockey Simon Price were well pleased with the one and three quarter length win of Goon Serpent $3 in the 1400 metre third race.

Leading all the way and from the Bluebird mare Capri Blue, Goon Serpent beat the David Hayes mentored Paul Gatt ridden Lannaki, the $2.10 the public fancy.

Baroness Goodland $31 was a farther length away third Brian Mueller and Justin Potter.

Starting the $2.20 favourite and being out of the Last Tycoon mare Bermuda Rose and fathered by Happy Giggle, Some Call Me Tim was the four length winner of the 1200 metre fourth race.

Prepared by Jon O’Connor and ridden by his apprentice Kate Dyson Some Call Me Tim came into the event on the home turn and powered home to beat Exalted Blonde for mentor Jim Smith and rider Dominic Tourneur. A head away third was Decanter De Grange $4.60 for Paul Seater and Matthew Neilson.

The stallion Canny Lad and the Star Way mare Canterbury Rose were the winning parents when Canterbury Star $5 was the length winner of race seven which was run over 1200 metres.

Having the services Dominic Tourneur and prepared by Peter Blanch Canterbury Star came from a mid position and had nose to spare on the line over the Barry Woosnam trained Michael Hoppo ridden Faldane $7. Little Bay $12 was a farther one and a quarter lengths away third for Scott Trenowden and Simon Price.

Mentor Sharon Hayes and jockey Wayne Kerford shared in the three and a half length win of Get Stitched $5 in the 1600 metre final event.

Being out of the New Regent mare New Status and sired by Made of Gold, Get Stitched was well placed and beat the Paul Seater trained Clare Lindop ridden Olivia Grace, the $2.50 favourite.

Missgoblet $4.60 was another long head away third for Stuart Gower and Michael Hoppo.
