Brooks Making Steady Recovery From Fall

The condition of South Australian apprentice Elly Brooks has stabilised after being brought out of an induced coma on Tuesday.

Brooks, 17, fell from a horse during trackwork on Saturday morning at Morphettville.

Since the incident, Brooks has been hospitalised at Flinders Medical Centre in intensive care.

It is hoped Brooks will be transferred to another ward to undergo further testing towards the end of this week where it may be also possible for her to receive visitors.

Brooks, who is indentured to Morphettville-based trainer Gordon Richards, made her riding debut over the two-day Kangaroo Island Cup Carnival in February this year.
