Balaklava Race Reduced In Distance

TRSA Limited advise that the distance of Race 6 – Hyland Race Colours / SABOIS+ Rating 0-62 Handicap at Balaklava tomorrow has been reduced from 2215 metres to 1610 metres.

The Stewards conducted an inspection of the Balaklava track this morning and determined that a section of the course proper in the vicinity of the 1800 metres was unsuitable to race over.

Although the Club had identified and repaired a fault which rendered the section of the track unsuitable at its previous meeting on Wednesday, 19 May 2010, subsequent rain (about 60ml) had prevented this area from recovering.

Having regard to the proximity of the next Balaklava race meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 23 June 2010, TRSA Limited announce the Rating 0-68 Handicap programmed for that race meeting has been reduced in distance to 1600 metres.

Consequently TRSA Limited announce that the Rating 0-71 Handicap over 1600 metres programmed for the Murray Bridge race meeting on Wednesday, 30 June 2010 has been amended to a Rating 0-68 Handicap over 2200 metres.

This race remains for apprentice riders only and the field is limited to twelve runners.

Any enquiries regarding programming matters may be directed to TRSA Limited’s Mr. A. Macdonald on 08 8179 9814.

Any other enquiries may be directed to the Chairman of Stewards.
