RACE 1 – SA BREWING CO. / SABIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000 metres
The start of this race was delayed owing to SPOOKS REVENGE proving difficult to load. Mr. J. Allen, Trainer of SPOOKS REVENGE, was advised that a repetition of the gelding’s behaviour at the barrier could lead to action being taken against it.
TALUSE (R. Faehr) jumped away awkwardly.
SISTER AK (M. R. Henderson) raced wide throughout the event.
RACE 2 – MGA INSURANCE / D R & L J WILKINS CLASS D HANDICAP – 1000 metres
WALK TALL underwent a Veterinary examination after being kicked prior to leaving the Mounting Enclosure and was declared fit to start.
LIMA JULIET (B. Dunn) jumped awkwardly and was slow away.
In the vicinity of the 500 metres LIMA JULIET (B. Dunn) raced greenly and shifted out.
Near the 400 metres MOLLY DOLLY (H. Gower) was inconvenienced due to WALK TALL (R. Caddies) shifting out.
RACE 3 – THEVENARD HOTEL / CEDUNA PLUMBING CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1000 metres
ABSCENE (M. R. Henderson) was slow to begin.
RACE 4 – PARNELL-MOGAS FLYING HANDICAP – 1200 metres
POSSUM DIXON (R. Caddies) and POUND SHILLING (J. Marks) were slow to begin.
RACE 5 – COMPLETE TYRE & BATTERY SERVICE / CEDUNA PHARMACY SABIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1300 metres
The start of this race was delayed owing to MUSTIN BUNDY proving difficult to load and rearing over, dislodging its rider H. Gower. Mr. H. Oats, Trainer of MUSTIN BUNDY, was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding and a repetition of its behaviour at the barrier could lead to action being taken against it. H. Gower was attended to by the Ambulance Personnel and declared fit to ride. MUSTIN BUNDY was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and declared fit to start.
MUSTIN BUNDY (H. Gower) and PARDOO (Ms. Henderson) bumped on jumping.
LAPDOG (R. Faehr) was slow to begin.
R. Faehr was reprimanded by Stewards and reminded of his obligations of weighing in subsequent to the race.
