Change For TRSA Board

The Board of Thoroughbred Racing SA has paid tribute to Greg Boulton, who announced last week that he was stepping down from his position as Director and Deputy Chairman.

Mr Boulton, who is standing down to concentrate on his new role as Chairman of Penola Pulp Mill, said it was “a privilege” to have been part of the Board.

“I can honestly say that the Board has been one of the best constituted groups of people devoted to the success of an industry that I have had the pleasure of working with,” he said.

“I hope the Thoroughbred Racing SA Board is able to continue to be an independent body prepared to make bold and innovative decisions for the good of the thoroughbred industry.”
Thoroughbred Racing SA Chairman Philip Bentley said Mr Boulton had been an extremely valuable Director.

“Greg’s business acumen and his professionalism made him a huge asset to the Board and, by association, to the wider South Australian racing industry,” he said.

“His commitment and passion helped us deliver some very significant and positive results during the first three years of the new Board. He will be missed, and we wish him all the best.”

Thoroughbred Racing SA Chairman Philip Bentley has held initial discussions with the two shareholders (SAJC and SARCC) regarding the process and selection of a new Director.

Thoroughbred Racing is the controlling body for horseracing in South Australia, representing the interests of all metropolitan, regional and country clubs around the State. Thoroughbred Racing is the umbrella body for the South Australian Racing Clubs Council (SARCC), which represents the 25 regional and country clubs, and the South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC), which runs metropolitan Adelaide races.
