Patterson Suspended At Gawler

Adrian PattersonJockey Adrian Patterson received his second careless riding suspension within two months at Gawler on Thursday.

Patterson shifted ground when insufficiently clear at the 600 metre mark aboard Spirit Song in the $10,000 SAJC Life Members / Sabois Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1200m).

He pleaded guilty to the charge and was suspended for four meetings to commence after next Saturday till midnight August 25.

Trained by Stuart Gower, Spirit Song is nominated for the Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) on October 12 and started a warm $2.10 favourite yesterday but finished fifth beaten over 3.7 lengths.

Meanwhile, Nicole Stone was outed for two meetings for a blatant breach of the whip rules.

Stone struck her mount Savoy Affair more than five occasions prior to the 100 metres and was suspended for a period to commence at midnight Saturday, 7 August till midnight on Thursday, 12 August 2010.
