Wednesday's Murray Bridge Races Report

Jockey Simon Price received a belated 40th birthday present at Murray Bridge on Wednesday when he rode a treble while mentors Gordon Richards and Simon Casey added to the day training two winners apiece.

Price landed the first leg of his treble when he guided the Jim Smith trained $2 favourite Lindera to a four length win in the 1406 metre third race.

From the El Qahira matron Linaria and fathered by Danzero, Lindera was a near all the way winner and defeated Little Lucky $21 for apprentice Tillie Neve and her master Ken Sweeny. The combination of Karen Byrnes and Clare Lindop supplied Fatalii $7 who was a farther three quarters of a length away third.

Price’s next winner was the Simon Casey prepared Akhabrach the three length victor of the 1206 metre fourth race. Starting at $5 the Akhadan sired Akhabrach, from the Brocco mare Ball On Branch came with a strong run late in the event and beat the Paul Beshara trained Dominic Tourneur ridden Schoorwin $6.50. Sir Swift $5 was a short neck away third for Matthew Seyers and Matthew Neilson.

The $6.60 chance Gift Of Knowledge saluted the judge by three quarters of a length in the final event of 1406 metres and gave Simon Price his third winner while bringing up a double for trainer Simon Casey.

A six year old Knowledge gelding from the Double Century mare Doutole, Gift Of Knowledge came from well back and beat the Bill Bogarts mentored apprentice Lauren Stojakovic mount Hot Pursuit $21. The $9 chance Red Ranger was another long neck away third for Denis O’Leary and Dominic Tourneur.

Trainer Gordon Richards scored a race to race double early in the day when the apprentice Claudia Lions ridden North Beach $4.60 was three quarters of a length winner of the opening event of 906 metres.

The product of the mating of the English bred stallion Footstepsinthesand and the Danewin sired mare White Fire, North Beach was well placed and defeated the Karen Byrnes trained Simon Price guided Dapamac $6.

Missionary Man $18 was a farther long neck away third for John Hickmott and Todd Pannell.

Sired by Fast Romance the $4.20 returned Aptian, with the services of Shayne Cahill, brought up the double for trainer Gordon Richards in the 1606 metre second race.

From the Sallieri mare Aptitude Aptian was a near all the way winner and beat Maluka Bill $4.80 for horse carer Kym Buick and lady rider Tamara Zanker. Comminsky $41 was a farther three and a quarter lengths away filling the minor placing for Jess Giles and Matthew Neilson.

A winning margin of a half neck saw Ziadie $10 win the 1006 metre fifth race for his trainer Barry Dunn and jockey Justin Potter. A Regal Shot gelding from the Kingston Jamaica matron Miss Burton, Ziadie was well placed and beat the one time leader Victory Belle $5 for mentor Jonathon Maddigan and rider Michael Hoppo.

The $5.50 chance Alpha Gold was a farther one and a half lengths away third for Heather and Kevin Frew and Holly McKechine.

Starting at odds of $6.50 the Rubiton sired Courting Justice, from the Noble Bijou mare Pure Noble, led throughout and defeated the David Jolly prepared Claudia Lions ridden Midnite Crusade $8.

Cybercyn $4.20 was a father three quarters of a length away third for Heather and Kevin Frew and their apprentice son Jordon.

The five year old grey Faar mare Miyako Princess, from the Key Dancer mare Lucy’s Love gave her trainer Graham Fryer and apprentice Tillie Neve a half head win in the 2206 metre seventh race.

Starting at $6.50 Miyako Princess powered home to beat the Dean Elford prepared Michelle Hagley ridden Taste Test $7. Bell Ringer $5.50 was a farther two and three quarter lengths away third John Hickmott and Jordon Frew.
