Wednesday's Morphettville Parks Races Report

It was the trainer Lloyd Kennewell and jockey Shayne Cahill show on the Parks track at Morphettville Wednesday when the pair were associated with four winners.

Kennewell and Cahill stamped their authority on the meeting when the five year old Grandera sired gelding Loukoumi $5 was the one and a quarter length winner of race two which was run over 2250 metres.

From the Prince Echo mare Ettu Blu, Loukoumi led all the way and beat the $2-50 public elect Mytika for horse carer Simon Bates and apprentice Amy Hermnann. Miyako Princess $2.70 was a farther one and a half lengths away third for Graham Fryer and apprentice Tillie Neve.

Sired by Kempinsky the $5 returned Rialya not only gave Lloyd Kennewell and Shayne Cahill win number two but it brought up a double for the gelding’s dam, the Prince Echo mare Ettu Blu, in the 1400 metre third event.

Coming from the middle of the field Rialya defeated the Jon O’Connor mentored Dominic Tourneur ridden Dane Peggy $3.20. Dubai Vengeance $3 was a half length away filling the minor placing for John Dunn and Justin Potter.

The combination of Kennewell and Cahill brought up win number three when the $1.85 favourite Bertucci was the three quarters of a length winner of the fourth race which was run over 1250 metres.

Sired by the United States bred entire More Than Ready from the Zabeel matron Lazulia, Bertucci came from well back and registered a win over the David Hayes mentored Dominic Tourneur mount Ohmygod $21. The John Hyam trained Troy Baker ridden Zip Bus $7 was another one and three quarter lengths away third.

A head winning margin recorded by the $1.85 punter’s choice Ocsmepop grave Lloyd Kennewell and Shayne Cahill their fourth winner in the 1000 metre fifth event.

From the Scruples mare Prav and fathered by Niello, Ocsmepop was well placed and beat the Richard Jolly charge Adrian Patterson ridden Last Charge $9. Foxijo $81 was a farther three quarters of a length away third for Fred Meuring and apprentice Jordon Frew.

Strathalbyn based trainer Brian Mueller had the honour of winning the opening event when Love a Giggle, from his former good race mare the Zabaleta sired Leta, a winner of ten races for Mueller, was the half head victor of the opening event of 1000 metres.

A three year old Happy Giggle filly Love A Giggle, who could be seen back in town shortly, took the lead in the middle stages and went on to beat the $1.80 favourite Always Discreet for trainer Richard Jolly and apprentice Claudia Lions. Akhadraana $11 was another half length away filling the third placing for Leon Macdonald, Andrew Gluyas and Clare Lindop.

Fathered by the Irish bred Galileo from the Formidable mare Truffle Pig, Quantum Speed gave her carer Jon O’Connor and rider Todd Pannell a two and a half length win in race six which was contested over 1400 metres.

Being mid field for much of the journey Quantum Speed beat the $2-70 favourite The Perugian for mentor Mark Kavanagh and jockey Chad Lever. Next Top Model $5 for Phillip Stokes and Claudia Lions ran third.

Apprentice Jordon Frew brought up his third winner in as many days when he steered his parents Heather and Kevin Frew prepared galloper Exalted Brother to a one and a quarter length victory in Race 7 which was run over 1400 metres.

Starting the $3.80 favourite the Blevic sired Exalted Brother, from the Keepers matron Exalted Miss, came from third and beat the Chad Lever mount, the Mark Kavanagh charge Hushrose $6.50. Blevola Miss $10 was a farther neck away third for Denis O’Leary and Adrian Patterson.

Trainer David Balfour and jockey Clare Lindop were associated with the $4-80 chance Taken the Road, the two and a half length winner of the 1000 metre final event. Sired by the English bred Zaar from the Kailey Senor mare Cante Grande, Taken the Road came from a rearward position to beat Chicago Hood $9 for Craig Curtis and Simon Price.

Shanpanichi $51 was a farther short head away third for Sam Burford and Troy Baker.
