Saturday's Morphettville Parks Report

Apprentice Billy Eagan started the day off well when the More Than Ready three year old $2.50 public elect Bertucci, from the Zabeel mare Lazulia, was the length winner of the 1550 metre opening event at the Morphettville Parks track on Saturday.

Coming in from an opening quote of $3.10 the Lloyd Kennewell trained Bertucci came from well back to defeat Island Teaser $3.70 for the combination of mentor Tony McEvoy and apprentice Jack Hill.  The last start winner Jeunalistic $11 was another neck away third for Ken Sweeney and Paul Gatt.

From the Danewin matron Thanks A Bundle and being backed from $6 out to $8.50 the Paul Seater prepared Matthew Neilson guided Golden Bundle was the one and a quarter length winner of race two which was run over 1000 metres.

Fathered by Keep The Faith, Gold Bundle was well placed and beat the Paula Trenwith cared for apprentice Amy Herrmann ridden Lilgiggleo $3.80.  Ambling $101 was another half length away filling the minor placing for Barry Brook and apprentice Jordon Frew.

Billy Eagan registered his second winner when the Mark Kavanagh trained last start winner Tea For Three was backed from $4.20 into starting the $3.70 favourite, was the two length winner of the 1950 metre third race.

The progeny of the Japanese sire Tayasu Tsuyoshi and the Citidancer mare Taffeta Miss, Tea For Three was the first to leave the barrier before drifting to fourth before mustering speed once again and went on to beat the apprentice Libby Hopwood mount, the Richard Jolly trained Shady Grove $4.40.  Stakhanovite $8 was another one and quarter lengths away third for Gary Searle and Matthew Neilson.

Billy Egan brought up his treble when the Samantha Barr mentored Untouchable sired gelding Avoca Street, from the Quest for Fame matron Royal Tour, was the short half head winner of 1550 metre fourth race.

Drifting from $8 out to $13 before starting at $9.50 Avoca Street came from a near last position to record a win over the $4.20 chance Bawaardi for mentor David Hayes and jockey Paul Gatt.

Jutland $7.50 was a farther half length away third for Mick Whittle and Justin Potter.

Leading the Melbourne trainer’s premiership Peter Moody scored the first leg of a back to back double when the Linda Meech ridden Serenada was the three length winner of the fifth race which was contested over 1400 metres.

Backed from an opening quote of $3.80 and starting the $4.40 favourite the Encosta de Lago sired Serenada, from the Hurricane Sky mare River Serenade, was well placed and beat the Lloyd Kennewell charge, the Billy Eagan ridden Ocsemepop $4.

The one time leader St Fraser $4.80 was another long neck away filling the minor placing for Ken Matson and Jordon Frew.

Starting the $2.80 public choice after an opening quote of $4.60 the five year old gelding Sheedy gave his Caulfield based mentor Peter Moody and rider Linda Meech their second straight success in the 1200 metre sixth race.

Winning by a margin of a length the Exceed And Excel gelding Sheedy, from Viase de Fleurs a Machiavellian mare was a near all the way winner and beat the Don Archard prepared apprentice Ashley Thompson guided Produced $5.50 who finished three quarters of a lengths ahead of the third placegetter Ciro Prince $18 for Craig Stewart and Libby Hopwood.

The combination of horse carer Daniel Clarken and jockey Damien Robinson were well pleased when Showusyourcugats was the head winner of the 1250 metre seventh race.

Starting at $6.50 after opening at that quote the King Cugat sired mare Showusyourcugats, from the daughter of Charmwood Forest, Your Own Good, was well placed and beat My Uncle Vinny $15 for the husband and wife team of trainer Karen Letts-Maund and rider Jeffrey Maund.

Excellent $4.60 was a farther three quarters of a length away third for Mark Kavanagh and Billy Eagan.

A drifter in betting from $12 out to $19 the Fraar five year old gelding Scouse, from the New Regent matron Young Beauty, gave trainer Sam Turner and jockey Dominic Tourneur a three quarters of a length victory in the 1400 metre final event.

Scouse came from a mid field position and beat the $3.60 favourite Public Holiday for mentor John Thompson and jockey Clare Lindop.

Road To Finniss $4.80 was a farther head away third for John Hyam and Troy Baker.
