Saturday's Morphettville Parks Races Report

Favourite backers got off to a good start when the Mark Kavanagh trained Rock The Moment $1.55 gave apprentice Billy Egan the first leg of his double on the Parks track in the 1250 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.

Recording a one and a quarter length win over her three rivals the Rock Of Gibraltar sired Rock The Moment, from the Archregent fathered Moment’s Pleasure, settled well and quickly went to the lead to defeat the Richard Jolly cared for and his apprentice Libby Hopwood ridden She Swings $3.40.

The $4.40 chance Dark Diva was a farther half length away filling the minor placing for John Hyam and Troy Baker.

Simon Price scored the first leg of a double when the John Thompson trained Motifs, the $1.80 public elect, was the two length winner of the 1250 metre second race.

From the Stravinsky mare Melody and sired by Fusaichi Pegasus Motifs was well placed and beat the $5 chance Tang Prosper for horse career Tony McEvoy and jockey Matthew Neilson. My Last $14 was another long neck away third for Darryl Dodson and Holly McKechnie.

Trainer John Thompson brought up a double when his charge Jeter was the one and a quarter length winner of the 1250 metre third race three giving jockey Paul Gatt the first leg of a double.

The progeny of Mossman from the Zabeel matron Zalinda, Jeter $4.60 came from well back and defeated the last start Murray Bridge winner Conduction, the $3.80 favourite, for trainer Mick Huxtable and jockey Matthew Neilson. Harreb Lady $10 was another two lengths away third for Shane Oxlade and Justin Potter.

Rider Simon Price rode his second winner when the Tony McEvoy trained Tara Man, the $2.50 favourite, was the one and a half length winner of race four which was contested over 1950 metres.

A former New South Wales galloper and fathered by Song Of Tara out of a Marauding matron Gagoosh, Tara Man came from last and recorded a win over the Chris Oxlade mentored Billy Egan piloted Orchestra Stalls $4.40. Daydream Charlie $4 was a half length away third for Shane Oxlade and Justin Potter.

Billy Egan continued his success in Adelaide when the Lloyd Kennewell prepared $3 favourite Ocsmepop was the one and three quarter length winner of the 1250 metres fifth race giving Egan his second winner.

From the Scupules matron Prav and sired by Niello, Oscmepop came from last and beat the Jon O’Connor trained Todd Pannell ridden You Dee Cee $4. The combination of Phillip Stokes and Holly McKechnie were associated with Shadrach $10 who was another neck away third.

A three year old Catbird colt Impact Point $21 gave his trainer John Hickmott and jockey Damien Robinson a three quarter length win in race six which was run over 1550 metres.

From the Arch Sculptor mare Hopelessly Devoted, Impact Point came from a better than mid field position and defeated Blame Game $4.60 for the training partnership of Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas and rider Clare Lindop.

Top Billing $81 was a farther length away third for Phillip Stokes and Dominic Tourneur.

Starting at $3.80 Budriguez won his second race in succession and brought up a double for Paul Gatt in the 1550 metre seventh race.

Prepared by David Jolly the Al Maher fathered Budriguez, from the St. Covet mare Deni, was well placed and had a long neck advantage over the Mark Minervini trained Adrian Patterson piloted Andamooka Gem $11 when the judge was reached.

Drivel $11 was a farther neck away third for John Thompson and Clare Lindop.

The Great Britain sire Xaar and the Kailey Senor mare Cante Grande parented the winner of the 1000 metre final event Taken The Road.

Being under the care of David Balfour and having the services of Todd Pannell, Taken The Road $6 came from well back and recorded a length win over the Lee Porter trained Clare Lindop ridden Vain Partner $4.20. Flea Flicker $11 was a farther half length away third for Mark Kavanagh and Simon Price.
