Paul Gatt was the first rider to greet the judge when he rode the opening leg of a book end double on the Vincent Bradley prepared Brad Star who opened at $2 and started the $2.40 favourite to take out the opening  event at the Parks track at Morphettville on Saturday.

Winning by a margin of three and a half lengths the Starraq sired Brad Star, from a daughter of John’s  Hero, Phantasiare, came from third to record a win over the John Croucher trained Jeffrey Maund ridden Lord Of The Song $.6.50.

Southern Fortune $6 was a farther one and three quarter lengths away third for John Hickmott and apprentice Libby Hopwood.

Backed from $4 out to a starting quote of $4.60 the Grandera sired three year old filly Miss Debra brought up her second win from start number two when  she was the one and three quarter length winner of the 1000 metre second race.

Trained by Paul Seater and mothered by the Secret Savings mare Miss Moneybox, Miss Debra came from last to beat the $3.20 equal favourite Lilgiggleo for mentor Paula Trenwith and her apprentice Amy Hermann.  The other equal favourite was the fourth placed Little Akie.

The Shane Oxlade supplied Justin Potter ridden Regal Sharp $6-50 was another half head away third.

Libby Hopwood brought up her fifth winner in three days when she steered the Craig Stewart trained Ciro Prince to a three quarters of a length win in race three which was run over 1250 metres.

Coming in a point from $5 to start at $4 the Mutahassin fathered Ciro Prince, out of the Thameen matron Ciro Lady, settled well and beat the Paul Seater trained Jordon Frew mount Allstar $11.  The Caulfield trained $2.20 public elect Al’s Best Mate was  a farther one and a half lengths away third for Peter Moody and apprentice Jared Fry.

Apprentice Jared Fry joined forces with mentor John Thompson in the half length victory of Legislature who was backed from $5.50 out to $7.50 to win the 1950 metre fourth event.

From the Conquistarose mare Rose Of Latakia and fathered by More Than Ready,  Legislature was well placed and beat the $6.50 chance La Siroque for horse carer Tony McEvoy and jockey Simon Price.

Teairra $21 was a farther one and three quarter lengths away third for Daniel Clarken and Todd Pannell.

After missing the ride on the first winner of the day Brad Star due to missing his fight home from Melbourne after riding at Moonee Valley on Friday night jockey Dominic Tourneur combined with mentor Sam Turner in the long neck victory of Sandhill Prince in the 1550 metres fifth race.

Being quoted at $5 when betting opened before drifting out a point and a half to $6.50 the win of Sandhill Prince brought up a siring double for Starraq.

From the Fixed Flush mare Miss Thornhill Sandhill Prince came from well back to beat River’s Lane $7 for mentor David Balfour and rider Todd Pannell. The $2.80 favourite Andamooka Gem was a farther short half head away third for Mark Minervini and Adrian Patterson.

The Bel Esprit grey mare Belle Diva, from Manly Belle a Star Watch mare, gave her Kyneton trainer Neil Dyer and jockey Mark Munday a length victory in the 1000 metre sixth race.

Backed from $6.50 out to $7 Belle Diva came from a worse than mid field position and beat Taken The Road $5 for trainer David Balfour and jockey Todd Pannell.  Kissable $13 was another long neck away third for Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas and their apprentice Jackson Matthew.

The short neck win of Sir Sienna, a drifter from $7 to $9, gave Mount Gambier lady trainer Lois Kettle and apprentice Kate Dyson a short neck win in race seven which was contested over 1000 metres.

From Best Paint, a Best Western mare and sired by the New Zealand bred Suresh, Sir Sienna was no farther back then third and beat Shout Out Loud $7 for trainer Kerry Petrick and rider Paul Denton.

Racing concluded when Paul Gatt brought up his double when the   Phillip Stokes cared for Republique $5 was the half length winner of the 1250 metres final event.

Sired by Exceed And Excel from Forest Pearl, a Woodman mare, Republique came from a mid field position to record the victory over the Simon Price piloted David Jolly cared for Queue For Quality $7.50.

Starting at $18 Weholdtheace was a farther three quarters of a length away third for Craig Stewart and David Tootell.
