Saturday's Morphettville Races Report

Jockey Matthew Neilson rode his seventh winner for the week and the first leg of double on Saturday when he steered the Paul Seater trained My Choisir to a half length victory in the opening event of 1050 metres at Morphettville.

Having her second public outing the two year old Choisir filly My Choisir, from Prancelot a Jeune mare, came from second last to beat the Stuart Gower prepared Ben Hoppo mount Anythingthatmoves $7. Bay’s Edge the $1.60 favourite was a farther three quarters of a length away third for David Hayes and Paul Gatt.

The one and three quarter length winning margin of the first starter Southern Speed $2.10 give rider Clare Lindop the first leg of a treble and father in law / son in law traineing combination of Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas the first of two winners in race two which was run over 1050 metres.

Mothered by the Zabeel mare Golden Eagle and sired by the American bred entire Southern Image, Southern Speed was last when the race unfolded and in a field of seven went on to record a win over Bet The Farm $13 for provincial trainer Kym Buick and apprentice Jordon Frew.

Tropic Thunder, the $2 punter’s choice, was a farther half head away filling the minor placing for Mark Kavanagh and Simon Price.

Trainer Kylie Huxtable led in her second winner in three days when the Adrian Patterson ridden $3.70 equal favourite Fantastic Glen was the two length winner of the 1600 metres third race. Mystera the other equal favourite dead heated for third with Vonrob.

From the Scenic mare Carlin and fathered by Fantastic Light, Fantastic Glen settled well in fifth place in the middle distance event before going on to beat the Kevin and Heather Frew trained Jordon Frew ridden Cybercyn $10.

The two dead heaters - the Mark Kavanagh trained Simon Price ridden Mystera and the Len Smith prepared Clare Lindop ridden Vonrob $5 finished one and a half lengths away.

Clare Lindop brought up the second leg of her treble and co-trainers Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas scored the second leg of their double when $1.80 favourite Spirited Eagle gave them a neck victory in the 1100 metre fourth race.

Sired by the Australian bred Not A Single Doubt from the Carnegie mare Rezidencia, Spirited Eagle was seen running on after coming from second last and beat the Paul Seater cared for Jordon Frew steered Bella Leah $4.40. Ciro Prince $8 was another one and three quarter lengths away filling the minor placing for Craig Stewart and apprentice Jacob Rule.

Clare Lindop completed her treble when Movie Mogul $8 scored a two length win in the 1800 metre sixth event giving his Cranbourne trainer Stephen Theodore the first leg of back to back wins.

Carrying the same colours of the well performed galloper Campaign King the Johar fathered Movie Mogul, from the Zabeel matron Ishkala, was well placed and beat the $3.20 public elect Easy Cash for the combination of horse carer Mark Kavanagh and hoop Simon Price.

Redhead Rage $6 was another nose away third for Neil Dyer and Jacob Rule.

Stephen Theodore brought up his back to back double when the Chad Lever guided Summarise $4.60 was three quarters of a length winner of the 2052 metre sixth event.

A Lonhro gelding from the Flying Spur mare Material Girl, Summarise was well placed early before slipping back to mid field and then, mustering speed once more, went on to beat the Kerrie Van Tijin trained Paul Gatt ridden Currency Cugat $8. The $3.20 punter’s choice Bacchus Eagle was another three and a quarter lengths away third for Leon Macdonald , Andrew Gluyas and Clare Lindop.

From the Jogah mare Brookes and sired by the United States bred entire More Than Ready, Believe In More $8 gave two kilogram claiming apprentice Claudia Lions and her master David Jolly a one and a half length win the seventh event which was contested 1200 metres.

Being no farther back then sixth Believe In More beat the Craig Stewart cared for David Tootell guided Weholetheace $5. Valoroso $7 was another half length away third for Simon Casey and Lauren Stojakovic.

The Patinack Farm colours of royal blue, green and gold Patinack logo carried by Altanta Falcon gave trainer John Thompson a one and half length win in the 1200 metre eighth race and gave jockey Matthew Neilson his second win for the day.

After doing his resent racing in NSW the Fasnet Rock gelding Atlanta Falcon, from the Clay Hero mare Flame of Altanta, was well placed and beat the John Hickmott prepared Damien Robinson ridden Bold Line $12. Flea Flicker $4.40 was a farther long head away third for Mark Kavanagh and Simon Price.

The Staaraq sired Adoptme Two, from the Snaadee mare Adopted, gave trainer Denis O’Leary and apprentice Jordon Frew a half length win in the final event of 1800 metres.

Being well placed Adoptme Two $5 beat the $2.80 public elect Uchimura for mentor Tony McEvoy and jockey Simon Price. The last start Morphettville Parks winner Dara Seans $8.50 was another long head away third for Sue Jaensch and Holly McKechnie.
