Fantastic Beau To Be Spelled

The answer to a string of below-par efforts from Adelaide metropolitan winner Fantastic Beau may have been found.

Trained by David Balfour at Morphettville, Fantastic Beau won at Oakbank in April and Morphettville in May but has failed to flatter in five starts since.

The six-year-old gelding returned from a 22 week spell on December 22 at Morphettville but only managed to beat one runner home on that occasion after being eased out of the event by Paul Gatt.

Subsequent X-rays revealed a hairline fracture of the off hind leg.

Balfour has since advised TRSA stewards of his intention to spell Fantastic Beau, with his career record standing at 33 starts for 5 wins and 6 placings and prizemoney in excess of $65,000.
