From the King Ivor matron Spirited and Sexy and sired by Universal Prince, Spirited Princess who shared equal favourite status with the unplaced Beautiful Soul $4.20 came from a good position and beat the John Hyam mentored Troy Baker ridden Canny Catch Me $6.

Always Focus $4.80 was a farther long neck away third for Barry Dunn and Dominic Tourneur.

Carrying the Leverink family colours of orange with red, white and blue sleeves and raced by the deputy chairman of the Gawler & Barossa Jockey Club along with his son Ben, brother Fred and sister-in-law Marilyn, Spirited Princess will have her next start in a 1200 metre event in the city.

Royal Tern beat the Georgina Henderson prepared apprentice Jordon Frew ridden Ticket To Vegas $15. The $3.20 punter’s choice Our Joy was another three and a half length away filling the minor placing for Kylie Huxtable and apprentice Scott Westover.

Breaking her maiden status at her ninth attempt Sister Swank, the $1.60 favourite, gave trainers Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas and lady jockey Clare Lindop the first leg of a double in race three which was contested over 1500 metres.

Winning by a margin three quarters of a length the daughter of the United States bred stallion Fusaichi Pegasus and the Volksraad sired mare Swanky Girl, Sister Swank was no farther back than third and is now likely to be tried at city company once again.

Sister Swank beat the second-time starter Sky Raider $6 for horse career Tony McEvoy and jockey Simon Price. Describing Sky Raider as a nice horse McEvoy said that he will look for a similar type race over 1700 metres for the three year old gelding.

Designer $6 was another head away third for David Hayes and Paul Gatt.

Clare Lindop, together with Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas, landed the second leg of a double when Imperial Lines $4.20 tasted victory by a half neck in the fifth event of 1200 metres.

From the Royal Academy mare My Duchess the Refuse To Bend sired Imperial Lines held down a forward position throughout the event before going on to beat the $4.60 chance Artechs for trainer Tim Snelling and rider Tamara Zanker.

The Jeffrey Maund mount Six Crownies $9 was another one and a half lengths away third for local trainer Gary Searle.

Managed by the principle of Pattinack farm Nathan Tinker Harlow gave mentor John Thompson and jockey Dominic Tourneur a three quarters of a length win in race four which was run over 2100 metres.

Starting the $2.05 favourite the Encosta de Lago gelding from the Carnegie matron Shangi Moon, Harlow came from well back and beat Tarvon $21 for trainer John Dunn and rider Matthew Neilson. Burgundy Notes $6 was a farther one and a half lengths away filling the minor placing for Bill Papazaharoudakis and Paul Gatt.

Steady in betting at $21 the E Dubai four year old mare Ye Beauty, from Fasart a Fasliyev mare, provided her carer John Dunn and jockey Justin Potter with a long head win in the 1200 metre sixth event.

Being no farther back than third for the entire race Ye Beauty defeated the Karen Byrnes mentored Jordon Frew guided Regalina the $3.60 equal favourite with the fifth placegetter Ultramarine Blue. Boom Trader $15 was a farther short half head away third for John O’Loughlin and Amy Herrmann.

After recording a half length win the 1100 metre eighth event Winehouse will be rewarded with a spell by trainer Kerry Petrick before she brings the gelding back in work and prepares him for races during the Northern Territory carnivals later this year.

Well handled by jockey Paul Denton, the Tale Of The Cat four year old, from the Northern Chateau mare Fun in the Chateau, Winehouse the $2.40 favourite led throughout and beat Run Barry Run $51 for Gawler based trainer Paul Sandford and apprentice Melanie Tyndall. Somesay $21 was a farther one and a half lengths away third for Danielle Wilson and Damien Robinson.

Jockey Simon Price brought up his double when he guided the Mark Minervini cared for Womby Princess $6 to a four and a half length win in race nine which was run over 1500 metres.

From the Soviet Lad mare Womby Queen and fathered by the Irish bred Lacryma Cristi, Womby Princess came from last and defeated Dubai Storm $6.50 for horse carer Phillip Stokes and rider Shayne Cahill. The $8 returned Mastro Antonio was a nose away third for Lloyd Kennewell and Paul Gatt.

Starting the $4.20 favourite Tasteofenergy gave his trainer John Croucher and jockey Jeffrey Maund a three quarters of a length win in the 1700 metre final event.

A Niello sired gelding out of the Zeditave matron Sardana Tasteofenergy came from third position to beat Let Go Johnny $4.40 for mentor John Hickmott and jockey Dominic Tourneur. Bellaafonte $6 was a farther two and three quarter lengths away third for Paul Seater and Matthew Neilson.
