Adelaide Cup Nominations Released
- Thursday, 24 February 2011 03:44
Speed Gifted was among 54 horses nominated for next month's $400,000 Group Two Adelaide Casino Adelaide Cup (3200m) at Morphettville when entries closed earlier today.
Boasting the highest rating of all nominees, Speed Gifted hasn't raced since last year's Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington when only managing to beat one runner home. His last win was in the 2009 Group 1 Metropolitan Handicap (2400m) at Randwick.
Some of the notable horses nominated for the Adelaide Cup included last year's winner Capecover, yesterday's Group 3 Launceston Cup winner Fast Future and Group 1 Metropolitan Handicap runner-up Mourayan.
Tinseltown, Lady Avacan and Maunatrice are other runners nominated for the race with a rating above 100.
Recent Mornington Cup winner Guyno boasts a rating of 99.
