Triple Asset Wins Jansz

Triple Asset

Tasmanian galloper Triple Asset continued his excellent form in Adelaide this afternoon by winning the $115,000 Group Three The Jansz (1200m) at Morphettville this afternoon.

Trained by John Keys at Wesley Vale on the outskirts of Devonport, Triple Asset settled outside the leader Win For Wilson and was pushed wide in the straight when Win For Wilson wobbled around the home turn allowing More Awesome up along the rails.

More Awesome joined Triple Asset in the lead but it was only for a brief moment as Triple Asset was slipped more rein by Dwayne Dunn and he kicked clear to win easily on the line.

Triple Asset ($3.20-$3.70-$3.60 fav) defeated Win For Wilson ($6-$7-$4.80) by three lengths with Gone Skiing ($7-$8) a further 1-1/4 lengths away in third.

More Awesome ($8) faded into fourth place with Gonski Girl ($14) running a bold race after racing wide throughout in fifth.

First run in 1986, the Jansz – also known as the National Stakes – has been won by the likes of Super Elegant (2000), Great Is Great (2003), Tonz More Fun (2005), Gabbidon (2007), Majestic Music (2009) and last year’s Group 1 Golden Rose winner Toorak Toff (2010).

Triple Asset has now raced seven times for four wins and three placings with prizemoney beyond the $260,000 mark.
