Saturday's Morphettville Parks Races Report

Paul Gatt laid the foundation for his quartet of winners with a five length win on the John Thompson trained Reventon, the $1.90 favourite, in the opening event on the Parks track at Morphettville on Saturday.

The win of Reventon brought up the first leg of a treble for John Thompson and the Patinack Farm Syndicate which is controlled by Nathan Tinkler.

A Testa Rossa gelding from the Lake Coniston mare Aragonce, Reventon proved too strong for the John Hickmott prepared Shane Cahill ridden Impact Point $8.

Strum Cha $4 was a farther one and a quarter lengths away third for Mark Kavanagh and Dominic Tourneur.

After having won in the first event punters received a reality check when the $51 chance Real Fantasy was the one and a quarter length winner of the second race which was contested over 1000 metres.

Being under the care of Gawler trainer Peter A Jones and guided by jockey Matthew Neilson the Real Jester sired Real Fantasy, from the Blazing Sword mare Blazing Fantasy, came from fourth and beat the $1-70 favourite Shanghai Bound for trainer Tony McEvoy and rider Simon Price.

Haveyaway $4.20 was a farther length away third for Richard Jolly and Chad Lever.

Nordic Monarch $11 kept the momentum going for forward runners when it won the 1000 metre third race for trainer Tony McEvoy and gave Paul Gatt an early double.

A King of Danes sired three year old gelding from the Mossman mare Krapelbon Nordic Monarch beat North Beach for mentor Gordon Richards and rider Simon Price.

The combination of Paul Seater and Matthew Neilson supplied the third placegetter Gold Bundle $7.

The Patinack Farm Syndicate were again successful when the John Thompson prepared Jeffrey Maund piloted Interview was the three quarter length winner of the fourth race which was run over 1550 metres.

Returned at $10 the Encosta de Lago four year old gelding form the Anabaa mare Anacarde, Interview $10 came from a midfield position to beat the Matthew Seyers prepared Paul Gatt ridden Sacred Snaadee $7.50.

Court Ya $12 was a farther three lengths away filling the minor placing for Paula Trenwith and Simon Price.

Caulfield based trainer Peter Moody brought up a win when Cute Emily was the one and a quarter length winner of the 1400 metre Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Having the services of Shayne Cahill the Choisir filly from the Mi Preferido mare Prefer an Angel, led all the way and carried too many guns for the John Thompson prepared Paul Gatt ridden Win for Wilson $8.

Cash Bound $4.40 was a farther neck away third for Darren Weir and Jamie Mott.

Paul Gatt brought up his third winner when the David Hayes trained Precious Lorraine $1.90 was the half length winner of the 2400 metre SA Fillies Classic. 

Fathered by Encosta de Lago from the Danehill mare Monsoon Wedding, Precious Lorraine came from a midfield position and beat Giggleswick $3.60 for mentor Lee Freedman and rider Ryan Maloney.

Top Billing $91 was another head away third for Phillip Stokes and Matthew Neilson.

Showing his liking for the Parks track where the four year old Budriguez $3.60, has won five of his last twelve starts, gave jockey Justin Potter a two and three quarter length win in the Listed City of Adelaide Handicap which was run over 1400 metres.

Prepared by David Jolly the Al Maher sired Budriguez, from the St Covet matron Deni, started well and quickly took up a front running position going on to beat a Victorian visitor, the Darren Weir cared for Jamie Mott mount Time Matters, the $3 public elect.

Another David Jolly runner Goon Serpent $6.50 was a farther one and a half lengths away third with Paul Gatt in the saddle.

John Thompson brought up a triffecta of wins when the Savabeel mare Mother’s Milk, the $3.20 favourite, from Bailey’s On Ice an O’Reilly mare, was the short half head winner of the 1250 metre last race and gave Paul Gatt his fourth winner.

Settling in a mid field position before going on to claim event Mother’s Milk beat the $3.80 chance Republique for mentor Phillip Stokes and rider Dominic Tourneur.

The Jon O’Connor and Clare Lindop supplied You Dee Cee $10 was a farther neck away third.
