Thursday's Murray Bridge Races Report

Facing the starter for the twenty third time and breaking his maiden status the Akhadan four year old gelding Cool Classic gave trainer Peter G Jones and apprentice Jordon Frew a three quarters of a length victory in the 2200 metre opening event at Murray Bridge on Thursday.

Mothered by the Regal Classic matron Classicalma, Cool Classic $6 led  from the  gates and, maintaining a forward position in the distance event, beat the $3.30 favourite Wiggly Girl for the combination of trainer Mark Kavanagh and jockey Paul Gatt.

Quick ‘N’ Sick $6 filled the minor placing for Kym Healy and apprentice Lauren Stojakovic.

The Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas stable combined with lady hoop Clare Lindop in the half length win of $2.10 public elect Moving Money the winner of the 1200 metre second race.

Sired by the imported United States bred stallion Artie Schillier from the Second Empire dam Subsequential, Money Maker came from well back and recorded a win over the Peter Jolly mentored Paul Gatt guided Doohan $4.20.

Having its first day at the races Rich Pride $31 was farther half length away third for John Hickmott and Shayne Cahill.

Trainer Karen Byrnes made full use of her home track when the $3.80 chance Dapamac gave her the first leg of a double in race three which was run over 1200.

Steered by rider Chad Lever the Golden Lake sired Dapamac from Tashilado a daughter of Sir Dapper, Dapamac came into the race late and defeated the $2.10 favourite and former NSW galloper Heuriger for another Murray Bridge trainer Stuart Dodd  and jockey Michael Vassallo.  Starting at $4.80 Exalted Value was one and a quarter lengths away third for Roy Rogers and Dominic Tourneur.

The Trevor Day trained apprentice Libby Hopwood steered Social Finale $3.80 opened his winning account after eleven starts scoring a one and three quarter length win in race four which was run over 1600 metres.

From the Benefit Performer matron Social Benefit, Social Finale came from a mid field position and beat the Paul Seater performer, the Chad Lever mount Just Too Cool $16.

Good Night $6 was another short neck away third for John Hickmott and Dominic Tourneur.

Apprentice Scott Westover brought up the first of back to back wins when the Bill Papazaharoudakis prepared Tucson Trail was the half length winner of second heat of SATAB Apprentice Series which was contested over 1400 metres.

From Ombre Rose, an Avaray mare and sired by the American sired Esperero Tuscan Trail came from well back and beat the Jackson Matthews steered Darryl Hewitt cared for Cascade Now priced at $4.60.

Ramsgate $7 was another two and three quarter lengths away third for Jess Giles and Jordon Frew.

The John Hickmott cared for Entirely Mine $12 scored a half head win in the 1400 metre third leg of the SATAB apprentice series  giving Scott Westover his second success when he won consecutive races.

The Viking Ruler gelding Entirely Mine, from the Grosvenor matron Diamonte Rose had a good battle with the second placegetter the Ken Sweeney trained Jackson Matthews ridden Grand Group $14 .

Afrisky Business $4 was a farther one and three quarter lengths away third for Liz Faust and Lauren Stojakovic..

Mentor Karen Byrnes won her second race for the day when the $3 punter’s choice Zaamission was the two and a quarter length winner of race seven which was run over 1000 metres.

Having the services of rider Simon Price the Zariz fathered Zaamission, from the Danger mare Dangerous Mission, came with a strong run over the concluding stages to defeat Brinkley Boy $5 for another Murray Bridge trainer David Aldridge and jockey Dominic Tourneur.

Trainer Paul Seater completed the triffecta for local based mentors when the Paul Gatt piloted Nosealot $3.60 was a farther short head away third.

The Shorblue sired Bluepoles, from the Without Fear mare Mrs. Rumpole, gave trainer Jake Stephens and rider Paul Gatt a one and a quarter length win in the final event of 1200 metres.

Starting at $6. 50 Bluepoles came with a strong run over the concluding stages to beat Shanpanichi $6 for Sam Burford and Simon Price.

The Princess $6 was a farther one and a half lengths away third for Brian Mueller and Justin Potter.
