Wednesday's Balaklava Races Report

Starting at $3.50 Sounds Like Leon was a farther one and a quarter lengths away filling the minor placing for Kym Buick and Dale Evens.

Simon Price rode his second winner when the first starter Little Miss Bourke $4, from the Flemington stable of Mark Kavanagh, was the long neck winner of the 1200 metre fourth race.

A Flying Spur three year old filly from the daughter of Encosta de Lago, Fairessa, Little Miss Bourke came from well back and beat the John Hickmott charge, the Libby Hopwood ridden Rough Deal $3, the equal favourite with the fourth placegetter Morse Code.

Starting at $6 Gone Without was a farther length away third for David Balfour and Todd Pannell.

Mentor Kylie Huxtable and apprentice Jordon Frew combined in the long neck win of Nadahka $4 in the 1400 metre fifth race.

Sired by Akhadan from the Sarajaavo mare Lady Sentosa, Nadahka came from well back to record a win over the Libby Hopwood mount, the John Hickmott cared for Son Of Nala $10. Exalted Filly $5 was another half length away third for Roy Rogers and Adrian Patterson.

Simon Price brought up win number three when he guided the Matthew Seyers cared for Friendsinthefield $3.60 to a two length victory in the Class 2 Handicap of 1200 metres.

An Undoubtedly four year old mare mothered by the Prince Echo mare Hello Hello, Friendsinthefield was well placed and defeated the one time leader, the Nick Sabeen trained apprentice Jackson Matthews mount Wings On Her Feet, the $2.20 public elect. Starting at $7 Forcryingoutloud was another neck away third

for Leon Macdonald, Andrew Gluyas and Clare Lindop.

Sired by Redoute’s Choice from the Snippets mare Snippets’ Jewel Ultramarine Blue $5.50 gave trainer Daniel Clarken and his apprentice Lauren Stojakovic two and a half length win in race seven which was contested over 1200 metres .

Not sighted early in the event Ultramarine Blue came with a powerful run and went on to record a win over the Bill Bogarts mentored Libby Hopwood ridden Twilight Dancer $4.40. Bianposh $4.60 was a farther long neck away filling the minor placing for Simon Casey and Simon Price.

The combination of trainer Barry Ewen and apprentice Jackson Matthews were successful when Gold Vintage $4.60 was the nose winner of the 0-68 final event which was run over 1200 metres.

From the Bold Rancher matron Famous Vintage and fathered by Real Jester, Gold Vintage came from a rearward position and defeated Meadows Dan $5 for trainer Roy Rogers and rider Clare Lindop.

Conquest of Arms $21 was a head away third for Margret Ruberry and Tamara Zanker.
